I emailed Universal via their website to ask when we'd be seeing the first trailer for Serenity. Their answer?

May 6 - The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

It may not be January, but what a great movie to attach it to! Now I don't have to go see Elektra, which I had no interest in anyway.

! What a perfect place for the trailer. I really didn't want to give Elektra any box office it didn't deserve, and now I can enjoy a movie that I want to see with the trailer I'm dying to see. As has been said previously: Shiny!

Super-sweet. One space movie for another; how can we go wrong?

I remember they stuck the "Alien: Resurrection" tralier in front of another space movie back in early '97... I dunno, I think it was Star Wars. It's been a while. Anyway.

Someone asked about primetime trailers, which makes me wonder... who gets to go on the late night talk shows to speak the glories of Serenity? Joss? Nathan? Jewel? I NEED to know these things....

That means theaters will have copies of the trailer come May 19th. If Universal can get a Serenity trailer on most prints of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, it'll be a massive boost to awareness.
