I didn't think it was possible, but Fux has dug a new hole underneath their previous low, low point, and spawned "Who's Your Daddy?" See news of the outcry:

The real damage we are suffering comes not from Terrorism or Iraqi citizens, but from these evil, evil, moneygrubbing bastards.

My wife told me about this a little while ago and reading that ariticle makes it somewhat more real. Fux even surprised me with this one.

How much low can they go?

It really is very tasteless television. One of TV's founders in Britain said TV was there to ""inform, educate and entertain". He must be spinning in his grave right now.

And just when you think you can't be surprised any more............well, I was wrong. I mean I thought it was bad enough when I saw one of these reality things advertised something like a beauty contest but with surgery....ew! But this really takes the biscuit.

I guess you could try and stop this terrible thing by signing the petition to stop it http://www.petitiononline.com/rebecca6/petition.html

Actually, a really effective way to stop this shite is to immediately cease purchasing any of their sponsors' products, and write those sponsors telling them why you boycotted their products in favor of their competitors' products.

If enough people did this, F*x would be under new management, pronto...

Promotionally,

zoid

P.S.
I've been doing this since the cancellation of Firefly; some companionship in the effort would be appreciated. In particular, I've written Ford and Coca-Cola, the sponsors of 'American Idolatry' and told them that I am boycotting their products because of their sponsorship of pseudo-entertainment. I really miss the Cokes; but I wouldn't own a Ford on a dare...

P.P.S.
Does anybody know of an advertising watchdog agency that publishes which sponsors advertise on which shows? I had a related idea to not only boycott-and-write 'reality TV' sponsors, but to write sponsors who avoid pandering to the base instincts of humanity and telling them they will be getting my business, and why. The problem arises in trying to determine which companies are the worst offenders, and which are the least. Perhaps somebody knows of a website (or could start one) that lists the major sponsors of the top 50(?) primetime shows? That way we could buy products only from companies that support quality TV. Just a thought.

Bwaahahaha
That just made my day, since my girl is an EX-Ford employee thanks to outsourcing, sexism, and general incompetence, greed, and chicanery amongst the US Auto Industry.

And yes, the cars they make are craptastic.. the Focus ? WHY I ask you... WHY ??

Anyhow, Zoid's re-iterating exactly what I've been saying all along, you hit them in the pocketbook, it gets their attention.

And no, alas, no one has compiled a site of who adverts on what just yet, damn nice idea to have one tho.

Kudos, Z.

One of the best things to come out of this last fall/s tv schedule is the fact that Fox's ratings suck beyond belief.

Even their own executives have commented that they are relying way too much on "reality" programming and that is why they are losing to scripted programming like Lost, and Desperate Housewives.

A realization that comes two years too late, assholes!

America loves a winner!

Just wait 'till the episode where 'Daddy ' takes a visit to Victoria's Secret with her and she has to try on some of the apparel, picked out by him, of course. The 'gag' will be whether or not the REAL daddy picks out some thing naughty or nice.

And more of my joy at Fox's reality shows doing horribly...

Last Tuesday at the 8pm slot the Rebel Billionaire aired and recorded the lowest Fox rating for that day and time.... EVER.

hee hee

I think it was a 1.7

If this continues Fox execs may have to actually get rid of Reality drek because it is unprofitable. That would make me do a serious happy dance.
