My BDE pic in a UK mag? WHAT?

Hi all! I got a message on the OB saying that my pic from when I was an extra on the Serenity set was in a UK SciFi mag (SFX)! I have no idea how I can get my hands on this mag...so if anyone has it, please post info, k?

could try a well stocked comic book store ... some of 'em carry all sorts of imported mags {scifi, anime, etc ...)

Hullo Saxon!

If you're the lass with the blue hair and orange and tan kimono then yes, your picture is in SFX - I have it right in front of me in fact. It's just a ickle little thumbnail one in the side 'We also heard from' column on the letters page. The attached quote from a Joe Godfrey: "(praises Shawn of the dead)... Also thought you'd like to know that the 'Church of Firefly' is firmly entrenched up North. I preordered my box set and have since converted my family and friends. During my daily procrastination (it beats doing physics) I came across a report written by some of the extras on Serenity and discovered this cool pic of one of them."

The issue is the December one (yes, I know, odd, eh?) - number 124 with Sarah Geller on the front.

If you're desperate for the mag to enshrine proudly, I'd be happy to post it to you - possibly with a cool mix CD to yet again force my musical tastes on someone else. My email addy is: dreaming_lad@yahoo.com

P.S: Went as Shawn from 'Shawn of the Dead' to a big Halloween night at the Phono in Leeds. It was ace and there were various zombies (including one with a record stuck in his forehead! Hurrah!) who I got to bludgeon with my bloody cricket bat. Hurrah! All thanks to my slight resemblence to Simon Pegg! Hurrah! (etc.)

I saw that too! I was sure I remembered seeing your picture (even though it's tiny in the magazine) with one of the onset reports a few months back.

The issue went onsale last week, I think.

Perhaps we should all email the magazine and encourage them to interview some of the fans who were BDEs? It seems very eager to give Firefly as many column inches as possible, it's only fair we should give them some inspiration

Grr can't get links to work properly for some reasons...

I took a picture of it with my digital camera. It's not very good but the best I can do. I took the issue cover, the page with the picture and a closer image.

The picture is the small one on the middle right of the 2nd picture.

I wanted links, not inline pictures, how do I change it? I may have to take this down fairly soon due to bandwidth use.

OMIGOSH! That is freakin' amazing and hi-larious! LOOK who I share a page with! My daughter, Coffeewench will love it (it was either she or Dammitgirlie who took that pic for me). If anyone wants to see more (plus younger and prettier) BDEs, check out my website (which is, I guess where this Joe person got the pic). I HAVE to get my hands on a copy of this mag...I checked our local comic book store, the guy knew of it, but doesn't carry it. Y'all are great to post this, and offer to help. This is so exciting for this mom from Central California!

Just FYI, IF I make into the movie, I'm not wearing the tan over kimono. They had me take it off before we did any filming. But I think the blue hair should stand out for easy spotting! *grin*
