CAITE

Hello everyone, my name is Caite and I'm new to the message board here. I was just watching the "Here's How It Was" documentary on the Firefly DVD, and I was wondering what has been done to try and convince Fox or another network to bring the show back after "Serenity" hits theaters? I'm sure you guys have all given this a lot of though and probably e-mailed them or sent letters, things of those nature. I was wondering though if people would be interested in doing a heavy duty campaign to try and get Firefly back on air. It's just such an amazing show and this is the first time I've ever been motivated to do something like this. Here's a link with contact information for Fox, if you don't have it already:

http://fox.com/links/affiliates.htm

This is where you can find contact information for you local Fox affiliate.

Thanks everyone!
Caite

Hi Caite. Welcome to the boards. I know you're new and enthusiastic, but there *is* a reason we aren't doing this already. Well, two reasons, really.

1) We already tried with every possible network we could after the cancellation.

2) Part of Fox's deal with Universal for the rights to the movie was that it couldn't come back to TV for a certain period of time (I believe the figure floating around is 10 years).

There is a lot of information on this board and elsewhere about all the fan campaigns that have been tried or are ongoing. Our focus now is to make the movie a success so that we get some sequels.

America loves a winner!

CAITE - welcome! And glad you're showing some spirit concerning our fav t.v show soon to turn box office hit movie.

As I understand it, from what I've read and heard, we're looking at the best possible scenario of having 3 movies made, assuming the 1st one does well enough. So, if you want to see more of our BDHs ( big damn heros , for the newbie ) talk up and promote the movie as best you can.

Also, understand that we have 9 talented actors out there who are always looking for work. They just finished Serenity, but realize it's been almost 2 yrs since Firefly was cancelled. I think every last one of them would love to work w/ Joss for years and years, but as for a t.v. series, at least right now, that's iffy at best.

" They don't like it when you shoot at 'em. I worked that out myself. "

doesn't it feel frustrating? I read all those responses you got Caite. Yeah, it sucks. Kinda disappointing too, but take heart. We love to have you here. Enjoy the Firefly verse with us.

Welcome, Catie! As others have mentioned, there are no immediate plans for a return to TV. The best we can hope for now is for the movie to be successful enough that they make a sequel/trilogy. If the browncoat ranks continue to grow, who knows what might happen in the future...so for now, the best we can all do is to keep introducing more people to the show, and get as many people to buy the DVDs and go see the movie as possible!

Jayne, your mouth is talkin. Might want to look into that.

Thanks everyone for giving me all the information. I figured that you guys had probably tried everything, but of course I had to make sure!

I'm starting on an unofficial site for the movie. It's nothing special, but maybe you guys might find it interesting...

Anyways, hope to get to know more of you!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Welcome to the site Caite. Glad to have you aboard.

I see my comrades have already answered your questions. Suffice it to say that we did everything we could think of and then some to save the show. None of the networks were buying though. Wonder how much they will be kicking themselves when the movie is a hit.

Checked out your site Caite. A nice start. Can't wait to see what you do w/ it.
