May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Now that I have your attention, I am officially inviting each and every Richmond, VA Browncoat, and any and all Browncoats in the surrounding environs to check out the Richmond Meet Up site:

http://firefly.meetup.com/9/boards/

We had our first meet up this past Saturday & it was a blast. We had 6 people show up and we had a great time discussing the show, the BDM, and Dragon Con.

We are discussing plans for the Meet Up coming on November 6th. We are considering a cook out and a viewing party at a Browncoats house. Any who wish to attend are welcome.

I encourage all Browncoats in the area who might be interested in this or a future Meet up to post on the Richmond Firefly Meet Up boards.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Firefly discussions.

See, I knew just from the thread title that this was one of yours, BC1! Man, if only I lived a little more south. I smack-dab in the midway point between D.C. and Baltimore, and Richmond is about a 3.5 hour drive. Best wishes to all those who can go, though. Have a blast for me!!

You knew it was one of mine? Really? Am I predictable? Huh.

You have seen these threads, right SoS?

Looks like Jewel will be in D.C. I might see about taking some Richmond Browncoats up to the Con to support our cutest BDH.

Northern VA Firefly meetup group looks to be heading into D.C. too to see Jewel. Have you hooked up w/ these guys?

Well, considering that you are the only Browncoat that I know in Richmond, just call it an educated guess!

As it always is, my schedule is going to interfere with my attending the GalaxyCon, which I see is on 11/13. My band is going into the recording studio that day, so I'm kinda stuck.

Oh well, maybe next time.

Ah, but there are more of us than just me. From what I have seen on the boards, there are about 10-12 Browncoats in or around Richmond. I had 3 show up for the Meet Up last weekend. I am hoping to coax more of them out of the woodwork in November.

You are in a band? I don't recall you mentioning it before, but perhaps I missed it. Too bad about GalaxyCon. We will be sure to pass your regards on to Jewel.

It's a Christian band, sort of. My guitarist works for a Sony Music recording studio as the studio guitarist. He's worked with 3 Doors Down and other bands, so we've pretty much got our foot in the door.

And yes, please tell Jewel I said hi!

On second thought, I would actually prefer to avoid the wrath of her husband Matt, so...maybe just a little wave for me?

Saturday is not set in stone Mary. How about Sundays?

My only problem with Sunday would be that I'd miss the Virtual Shindig, but then again it *is* only once a month. I'm sure they'll muddle through without me.

That's the spirit Mary!

I ran into your sister last night at her store in Chesterfield Towne Center. I was wearing my ever present Blue Sun shirt when this employee says to me, "My sister said if I ever see anyone wearing that shirt to say 'We've done the impossible......' " To which I of course replied "And that makes us mighty!"

It was so cool to run into someone who could rip off w/ a Firefly reference.

Stop by the Meet Up board and touch base w/ us for the November meet up.

Bada Bump!

Okay Richmond area Browncoats, we have a place for November's meet up, now we need a date. As some have expressed issues w/ attending a Saturday shindig, I have posted a poll here:

http://firefly.meetup.com/9/poll/

Since not everyone can be accomodated, we will allow the majority to vote and decide the day. I will leave the poll up until Sat, Oct 23rd @ 8pm. Please go over and vote if you can attend and let me know which date works best for you.

For Richmond area Browncoats that have not signed up, please do so and join us for our monthly meet ups. You can find us here:

FIVEBYFIVE

I ought to go to one of these, since I live in the Richmond area, if for no other reason than to prove Paladin and I aren't the same damn person.

----------------------------
5x5: Alan Tudyk was in 28 Days, not 28 Days Later. There's a difference.
Paladin: So, no wacky zombie with a Hawaiian shirt, then?

I did not know there was any confusion over you and Paladin being the same person.

We would love to have you come out to one of the Meet Ups. Our October Meet Up was a lot of fun. This month we will be having a cook out and a viewing party.

Stop by the board FivebyFive and sign up for our group. Look forward to meeting you.
