well, who converted me? i am proud to say that it is my own self. but also a little ashamed that i wasn't aware of such an entirely awesome tv show beforehand. :)

anyway, without furthermore delay, here's my story! i attended the san diego comic convention last month, and was waiting to see those two unaired episodes of wonderfalls on sunday. since i had nothing to do for the first half of the day, i decided to stakeout in room 20. :D right before Wonderfalls was the Serenity Panel Discussion. the cast caught my attention and i thought, "wow, these cast members must be really close, and they are hilarious!" (the Serenity Panel Discussion was by far, the most hilarious panel discussion, at the con.) at the end of the discussion, joss showed the trailer again. i paid more attention this time and thought it looked pretty damn cool. :)

note: i didn't get some of the inside jokes that were said during the panel...but i do now! :D haha, "the hero of canton...the man they call Jayne!" ;)

after Serenity was over, i stayed and watched the two unaired episodes of Wonderfalls (which i might add, were really good). tim minear, bryan fuller, and todd holland stayed after to sign autographs and chat with the fans. my friend and i decided that since everyone was getting autographs, we might as well, too. so i went up to tim and said, "i love buffy and wonderfalls." it was only less than a second later that i had realized i said buffy instead of angel. (i could've sworn i knew this was going to happen. :/) anyway, i apologized and said, "i mean...i love ANGEL and wonderfalls." he then replied with, "what about Firefly?" i honestly told him that i'd never seen it, but that i will get the wonderfalls dvd when it comes out. he told me to get the Firefly dvd too.

since it's summer and all, and i don't have summer school (my mom keeps nagging me about why i didn't take classes). i got bored just sitting on my lazy butt, and decided to do Mr. Minear a Big Damn Favor. i went to walmart and purchased the Firefly dvd! :) i watched it and fell in love with it instantly! haha, and the fact that the cast cursed in chinese made me even love it more!!!! :D anyhow, so there's my story. sorry that i couldn't sum it up in less words. :)

Nice of you to share a right shiny story. You can use as many words as you like. By now you know that you weren't doing Tim a favor, but yourself. It never ceases to amaze how it is so hard to get people to take that first look, and yet almost invariably (with no exageration) after the first look their hooked. I swear, if we could have a free showing of Serenity (the episode) and force everyone to watch it, this would be a billion dollar product.

Jolly good! I fell in love with Firefly after it had ended too. I downloaded the pilot, loved it, and promptly went out to buy the DVD and loved it even more. I've since done my duty and shown it to many, many people. I have... *Counts* 8 full converts. Four of which have bought the DVD set.

HOWARDROARKLAUGHED

I had no interest in Firefly when it first aired. I still had no interest in it when my father brought the DVDs over four weeks ago and forced me to watch the first four episodes. I am now a huge fan of the show, have made cool Jayne shirts, and am posting on Firefly sites. I have told everyone I know about the show and am going to bring a big crowd to the opening of the BDM. It's a shame that fox gave up on the show so quickly. It could have been bigger than any other sci-fi show out there. Oh well, they did the same to Futurama. Luckily, we live in the age of DVD and Joss has not let his vision die.

that's really awesome, howardroarklaughed! :) i made my friend watch Safe with me when she came over to my house yesterday. haha, she loved the fact that they curse in chinese! :D i guess this is a start! i can't waittttt to see the movie. you're definitely right, haufel, i did do myself a big damn favor, and i'm extremely glad of it!

I just converted two more people. Went out to California with my boyfriend, and brought along my Firefly DVD's.
Asked him and his stepfather if they'd like to sit down and watch it with me and they were hooked.
