FIREFLEW

Well, admittedly not a major part of the series, I did see Richard Curtis(? I think that's his name), also known as the man who played Jubal Early in an episode of Diagnosis Murder as a boxer who loses a fight and is accused of murder...

It was good timing too, as I'd just got home from a hellish exam, so it was nice and shiny to see him not as a crazy-ass bounty hunter.

Jayne: "Know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I beat you with till you understand who's in command."

Hey!

If you want to see a very young Adam Baldwin,( tall and lanky) check out RECKLESS. Also starring a very young Aidan Quinn(circa 1984).

Nathan doing great comedy in TWO GUYS AND A GIRL.

Jewel was also in the cancelled but wonderful ( aren't they always the shows cancelled?!) Alan Fuller/ Tim Minear series WONDERFALLS- plays Eric's wife in eps 1x10 & 1x11. These eps weren't aired but are around on P2P network.

LOVE this board :)

Thanks Bluey :) I'll keep an eye out for that title as well as others. Lanky or beefy Adam is still hot *laughs*

Important people don't do field work.

Nothing like resurrecting a really, really old thread, but I thought I'd mention a couple of things I saw lately.

First was Christina Hendricks on Angel. IT was from Season 1, so you know its preFirefly. And, I've already mentioned in the taglog that it was surreal to see Angel sweep up Saffron in a hug.

The second was Adam Baldwin in DC Cab! I remember watching this several times as a kid. Adam Baldwin and Mr. T! Winning combination!

Kaylee: "What's so damn important about being proper? It don't mean nothing out here in the black."
Simon: "It means more out here. It's all I have..."

Why hasn't anyone mentioned Nathan in Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place?. . . or whatever the name of that show is.

Book (Ron Glass) was also on a cancelled ABC show called "Teen Angel" he played Rod, God's brother (or cousin, can't remember) he had the same dry sense of humor as Book does.

Keep Flyin,

She played Julia Miliken, wife of Alan Miliken, David Palmer's one time political mentor turned adversary during Day 3. Actually, this is my fave non-Firefly performance by Gina because even though she looked exactly the same, Julia Miliken was literally the opposite of Zoe in every way you can imagine. You know you have a good actor when you see them in one thing and then in another, and while they look the same, you don't make that mental connection that the two characters are being played by the same actor until your blatantly being told. I was cruising Gina's resume on imdb.com, and I didn't make the 24 connection until I remembered who she was. And I was literally gobsmacked by the whole thing.

There's actually been plenty of 24/FIREFLY connections. In "Jaynestown", the mudder that throws himself in front of Stitch's shotgun blast for Jayne was played by the dude that played Rick (Kim's captor/patsy) from Day 1 of 24. Also from Day 1 was Richard Burgi, the fed searching for Tracey in "The Message" whom forever more I will call Alan York/Kevin Carrol. From Day 2, we have Gregg Henry, who played Jonathan Wallace, the last remaining Coral Snake who had the chip under his skin who also played the sherriff in "The Train Job". And one new connection I discovered was Doug Savant. In FIREFLY, he was Commander Harken in "Bushwacked", but on 24, he shared a bunch of the same eps Gina was in as Craig Phillips, the maitre'd of the Chandler Plaza Hotel where the virus was released.

Oddly enough, both Burgi and Savant play husbands (or an ex for the former) to the leading ladies of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. For some strange reason, I always figured that if it becomes standard that there's a revolving cast of new leads like so many long running dramas, that Jewel could end up on Wisteria Lane as well.

And wow! Hey! What's this thing suddenly coming towards me very fast? Very very fast. So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like ... ow ... ound ... round ... ground! That's it! That's a good name - ground! I wonder if it will be friends with me?
