Oh man. I haven't collected cards since Garvey, Lopes, Russell, and Cey were the Dodgers infield. But I'll be buying these.

Shiny!

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Serenity is getting mentions nearly everywhere you look these days. I'm convinced there are many in the media that are Browncoats.

No power in the 'verse can stop it.

It is pretty impressive how often serenity gets mention especially considering how far away the BDM is.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

This is so shiny!

I don't think I have collected a trading card since the Highlander CCG, and those I only collected because of how much I liked the series. Before that.....let's just say the The Empire Strikes Back was the last trading card that I ever spent money on.

I am so going to need another job to purchase all the Serenity merchandise they will release.

Ooh, I love cards. And now I will have to come up with some actual disposable income, since there are going to be bonus cards, collectible cards, autographed cards, costume cards and cards-that-aren't-just-plain-cards that are sure to suck up savings. Man, the days when all you got in a pack of cards was a wad of stale, crackly bubble gum are long gone!

Whoo hoo!

I am the merchandisers dream, I need a tangible product!

I have never collected trading cards before, I've always thought they were a bit pointless, but dammit if I won't be buying these ones.

I'm so easily led.

Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

Um...dumb question. How does it work? I mean, do you buy a pack of cards but not know which ones are in there, and you keep having to buy more packs to try and collect a complete set? Or can you buy specific cards?

That is the catch BritChick. The cards are randomly packed in the foil packs so you don't know what you are getting. Some cards, say character cards, are more rare than others. This inspires people to buy more packs in order to complete their collections.

The alternative that I and thousands have employed is to buy a complete box (not carton). Definitely a better deal than buying 5-card packs. But last time I did this was for Babylon 5. Do't know how much they cost now, but my dealer sold them to me discounted for about $60-$100 CDN.
