Thanks for this update Tash. Could be fun to try to figure out things based on the character name. I'm especially intrigued by David Krumholtz's character. [editted to add: after following the link in the next post, i'm less intrigued . For some reason my ambiguous line between what is a spoiler and what isn't was crossed and I closed the window covering my eyes]

Unfortunately, for all those HSX players out there, none of these additional actors have Star Bonds (the only two who do being David Krumholtz and Chiwetel Ejiofor).

I guess this pretty much validates the Casting Sheet that was released a while back.

See:
http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=4293

Anybody still worried about the direction the movie is taking?

Yeah, like "Jerry Lee Warren." That one's new to me. Maybe they decided on that name based on Alan Tudyk's commentary on The Message regarding his manic piloting.

Oh wait, that was Jerry Lewis, I was thinking Jerry Lee Lewis. Slight difference. /me hangs head and blushes.

One shouldn't judge by appearances, but when I saw Mr. Universe, I clicked on his name, and the rather smallish picture does not give me the impression of a body builder. Perhaps he is just a conman with delusions of grandeur.

The "Jerry Lee" is probably wrong. Here's the best explanation from a thread on this topic:

Quote:

The whole "Jerry Lee" thing came from a MISTAKEN transcription of "Our Mrs. Reynolds." When some of the sabotage Saffron did to Serenity is finally fixed, Mal says, "Nice work, Kaylee." Nathan's delivery was a bit off and overly drawled and it is hard to hear the "Kaylee" part, and that somehow got interpreted as "Jerry Lee" (and it almost seems that Mal is talking to Wash at that point). But the line in the shooting script is "Nice work, Kaylee," and she is the one who answers Mal.

From a previously released source, the "Mr. Universe" character is apparently an old war buddy of Mal and Zoe who is now a reclusive 'uber-info-broker' type guy. He's probably called Mr. Universe because he knows everything that's happening in the 'verse.

It looks like the Feldman twins are going to be playing those two middlemen types that are so insane that they're supposed to make Badger look downright cuddly.

The names make it appear that once again there are no Asians with speaking parts.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Thanks for the link Tash.

Well it appears the cast list we saw a couple of months ago is running pretty true.

Too bad there will be no Asian characters w/ speaking parts. Guess Hollywood strikes again.

No, Vinnie was played by Max Casela; he does resembled Krumholtz. But remember that Doogie Howser was on 15 years ago, so "Vinnie" would be quite a bit older than David Krumholtz is now.

Krumholtz was last seen as a regular on Rob Lowe's short-lived show, The Lyons' Den. His other credits are here:

thanx... i had forgotten how long ago that was on and Max Casela was much older than the character he played.
i remember Krumholtz from "Life with Mikey" ... i confused the actors then too.

did everyone notice the nepitism here?

Everyone is linked to someone on the show. One of the actors is Ben from season 2 of Buffy, one was in Party of five with Sean, one was in the movie Cheats with Jewel...

Most of the actors listed is one degree of seperation from one of the main actors for Firefly.

I actually think this is a good sign... less unknown variables. :)
