I dont know, I cant say that it sounds much like either. Its a little to pop-culture-y to be Adam I would think that if it were Kelly it'd say that somewhere. I cant say I care for this person much though, they strike me as a bit too loud-mouthed.

I read it a few times. Initially, from the style of writing I almost thought it was a female writer. But Dusty refers to himself as a man a few times, so we can rule out Alisa Tager. I thought perhaps it might be Chris Buchanan, but why wouldn't he name himself? For that matter, why wouldn't any of them name themselves? It's not as though they have to give out their email address too.

My feeling is that it's some Universal publicist who thinks he knows how Browncoats talk--and sees them as horny young guys whose favorite film is American Pie.

Yeah. I had mixed feelings reading the first blog entry. On one hand, it is definitely cool to have someone being paid to do this on a regular basis. It's a nice complement to the out-of-the-goodness-of-their-heart postings of Cappy, Jewel, Adam, Chris, and various Browncoat extras. On the other hand, the tone seemed very crass to me and I can't say that I'm a fan of the style. I guess the bottom line for me is that if someone who wouldn't normally go see the BDM gets hooked on the blog and is converted then I'm all for it. If the author continues in the same tone, I probably won't read it. I'll just wait for the BDH's to post.

I shaved off my beard for you, devil woman!

Has anyone suggested Chevy Chase? Chevy Chase played Dusty Bottoms in the fine cinematic classic, "The Three Amigos."

I only mention this, because if you were born in the 1980's, you probably won't remember a movie from 1986.

Could it be one of those instances where it's SO obvious, no one gets it? Mmmm, mystery......

Has anyone thought to ask him? (I'd love a link to the blog, so I could do it myself.)

Three Amigos. Ah, joy! Oh, Rapture! I've never liked Martin Short, but even he couldn't ruin one of the best comedies ever made. I have it on DVD.

This may sound a bit odd, but to me it started to sound a little bit like Joss Whedon. I know he refers to himself at the beginning, but he's done that before when writing things like this... And the story about craft services seems like something he might tell. Also there were a few key phrases that sounded a lot like Joss. Just a thought, I highly doubt that it's him seeing as he is uber-busy with the movie, but who knows? Also, why did you find it so offensive... I didn't get that tone at all. I thought it was kind of funny actually. Interested to hear your opinions. Please respond!

Someone on the OB thought it was Tim Minear which is possible if he's hanging around the set a bit. Also his writing style is a bit like Joss's.

Does anyone know whether any of the writers/directors other than Joss are involved on Serenity?

I was confused at first too, Kitten. They are talking about a blog (well, the only one so far) at the new movie site. The link is http://serenitymovie.com/blog/index.php

JAYNE "Pain is scary..."

I'm very suspicious of Capt. Tightpants himself writing that blog.

"If Nathan Fillion was any more charming he could turn a straight man gay. I'm just sayin' is all."

Hmm...that sounds like a funny bit of self-promotion.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

My money is on Nathan. I can just picture him typing that blog.

Man, I am glad I'm not the only one that was unimpressed by the Dusty Blog. He didn't even sound like someone who knew what Browncoats were all about and to me that totally eliminates it being any of the cast or crew. I could do a better job... REALLY I can, I promise, give me a chance, please, please?? Joss, hellloooo??

Throw some more money on Nathan. The man is a kidder extraordinaire, and we're all familiar with the now-famous "I'm not this guy!" story.

And "Dusty Bottoms" ... well, he couldn't very well call himself "Tightpants" now, could he?

Why would Nathan bother posting his own blogs and pretend to be Dusty Bottoms? Does he have that much time on his hands?

I remember both The Breakfast Club and Real Genius. Both from 1985 The year I was born.

The movie you mentioned plays more often than one of them.
