English browncoat here. Specifically, from the North Midlands... even more specifically, from Stoke-on-Trent, which is in Staffordshire, just below Cheshire.

Gonna be attending the Serenity con, not sure about Serenity 2 yet!

Hi, Casualty

Yeah, have a look at www.starfury.co.uk and it notes "Serenity 2" (as in Serenity Squared) coming in November but there are no details yet.

Stay lucky!

WOO HOO!

*Looks around to check she hasn't just woken up housmates with her yelps of delight*

Nah, I think I'm safe! That news may have just made my day, and today has been a pretty shiny day!

I'm newish too, although having attended the London Shindig the other night, I feel less freaked out by my newbie situation now.

I'm currently based in London, although Scouser-born (but without the accent). I'd love to go to the convention, but the total lack of funds is a bit of a prohibition. Maybe November, fingers crossed :)

Casualty, "Serenity 2" is a second convention Sean Harry is setting up for November 2005 to complement the BDM's cinematic release on 30th September. At the moment there are no further details up on the Starfury website but if you check from time to time as soon as details come available you will be in the know - www.starfury.co.uk. It would be neatness personified if Sean got not only the cast over but also the Right Hand of God (Joss) as well. So excited, this is going to be such a cool year...

It would be nice to go and meet some new people, but I am financially cleaned out at the end of the academic year with the possibility of a study abroad and worldcon after I get back and everything else that needs to be bought!

Boy, that`s too close for comfort

Seriously, that`s great - definetely have to try and meet up sometime - are you going to the Serenity Con in April?

This past week has been great, with meeting people from the Uk for the test screening, and finding out there`s more of `us` out there than people think in the UK.

I'm sure I've posted in this thread before but I'm gonna post again anyway now it's been revived.

I'm a browncoat from Swindon though I'm currently in Cambridge during term time.

I feel bad - I didn't realise there were so many fff people at the screening as I'd been avoiding this site pretty much as I didn't want to get spoiled when I'd come so close to seeing it unspoiled. I'd have tried to talk to more of you.

Look forward to seeing you all at Serenity!

BUMP FOR BRITS !!

(or at least any Browncoats currently resident within her "green and pleasant" borders)

"You live on a space ship, dear"
"So?"

Hello another brit here, quite new to FFF, in fact this will be my first post

I live down south not far from Portsmouth.

Oh and my boyfriend and I are going to Serenity (just going to head over to the post for it in a min and introduce myself there) so look forward to seeing lots of british (and international) browncoats there.

Hey, have a look at Andy's post about the Grimsby Shindig for next weekend:

http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=8914

He really needs your support if at all possible!

Stay shiny...

"Didn't she shoot you one time?"
"Everyone's makin' a fuss..."

If it weren`t so difficult to get to, I might have been tempted, got to save the pennies for the Serenity Con and theirs all sorts of stuff that`s connected with that

Still, If there`s a shindig closer to central England, I would be more able to get to it (and still remain fairly awake)

Wish them all the best luck though, sounds like it could be a good do.

So, who's going to the 2nd UK Screening?

Is there anyone who has to drop out now that date has been shifted to Weds, 23 March at the earliest?

It's probably worth keeping Sean Harry updated if you can't go so he can give a chance to others on the waiting list.

Stay shiny....

As I saw the first preview, that'll have to sate me until I see the finished version later this year. But I can honestly say that I was glad I watched it then, even in its unfinished state, than suffer spoilerdom by a thousand cuts.

Hay all another Brit here.

My life rolls along in Oxfordshire in a small town called Carterton.

I hadn't realized that there were so many Browncoats in the area. Good to know. I can rest assured the cinemas will be packed come opening night.

Well, I`ve made preperations to drop a few things if it`s due for a weekday even though I have seen the BDM, the chances are that this may be a new edit (due to the delay) & will enjoy watching the movie progress from the screenings to the actual film. As for whether it will spoiler my enjoyment of the finished product ... well, I very much doubt it ... in fact I know it won`t spoil my enjoyment - not unless the studio decides that the ship Serenity needs to look like the Starship Enterprise

Do people want to be kept upto date on this screening?

Cheers!

Is the new screening the 23rd? I am confused... thought it hadn't been announced yet but the message from Sean said 22nd at the earliest!

Yes Cap`n eric misquoted - probably from my initial email to him I can confirm the email said 22nd at the earliest - Ihope it`s at the weekend though as some people just may not be able to make it.

I have a training course next week and don`t know if I will be able to check my emails until the weekend, so I just hope it`s not brought forward that would be a killer

Thought it was about time to introduce myself on this thread. I’m an English browncoat, specifically from London. I’ve just read through the entire thread and am glad to see I’m definitely not alone. I’ve been to a few signings this past year listed here like Collectormania and London Expo but Starfury: Serenity will be my first con. When I heard how many of the cast are going to appear, I just couldn’t resist booking a ticket. Unfortunately I will be going by myself as none of my friends watch the show (believe me, I’ve tried to convert them), but I look forward to meeting many fellow browncoats. Hopefully I’ll also be going to the second screening just as long as it’s not on the 26th.

I shouldn`t worry about being on your own, there seams to be lots of people who either are single or their partners and/or friends won`t be coming - but that`s no reason not to enjoy yourself - If you make yourself known before hand, some of us can meet up for `Pizza` before & `pub` afterwards. (that`s for the screening - get to know your victim before Serenity!)

I can`t see it being shown during the day but you never know, hopefully, they will stay with a sunday evening, less traffic & more relaxing.

the UK is getting to be quite a popular place these days for Browncoats
