"Disc Rentals Go Postal by Dade Hayes
... top Netflix titles aren't always commercial heavyweights. Indie films like 'Whale Rider' and the short-lived TV series Firefly post surprisingly strong numbers, primarily because the Netflix site recommends titles to subscribers and post their reviews."

Nice, huh?

"They say the snow on the roof is too heavy. They say the ceiling will cave in. His brains are in terrible danger."

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Any press we can get for the Firefly is shiny. The more we can get the word out about the show and the movie, the better the chances for success.

SPIKESMORTICIA

I first rented my Firefly DVD's from Netflix... watched the first disc, sent them all back and bought the DVD's!!! and I rated all of them with the highest rating I could give them.
I was hooked from the first episode.

Being a hero doesn't mean you succeed in saving the day.... it just means you tried.

Yeah, me and the SigOth have a similar story to SpikesMorticia. Had watched the show when it was broadcast and were sad when it was canceled. Forgot all about it for a year until she ordered the first three discs through Netflix. After a marathon viewing session over a couple of days we returned them, rated them excellent, and hit the stores looking for our own copy.

I shaved off my beard for you, devil woman!

It's nice to see positive things in the TV Guide. Shiny - really after the snide comment they made when the DVDs were released.

Several months ago when the DVDs came out they had them listed as a new release but with a comment to the effect of "What the heck are these? It was a failed show so who will want them?"

I was not a happy camper to see that note. Shiny how all but us Browncoats were so wrong.
