Well, I learned me up some from the good Shepherd, and here is what I learned from him in format of ten sayings, no particular order.

1. live with a man 40 years, share his house, his meals, speak on every subject. Then tie him up and hold him over the volcano's edge. And on that day you will finally meet the man.
2. A government is a body of people, usually notably ungoverned.
3. Three sets of eyes'll be better'n two. Might see something you don't.
4. It is, however, somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.
5. They can dress her up pretty, but a Gurtlser engine's always gonna get twitchy on ya.
6. how you get there is the worthier part.
7. A man can live on packaged food from here til Judgement Day if he's got enough Marjoram.
8. If you take sexual advantage of her, you're going to burn in a very special level of hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater.
9. It's not about making sense. It's about believing in something, and letting that belief be real enough to change your life. It's about 'faith'. You don't fix faith, River. It fixes you.
10. I don't give half a hump if you're innocent or not! So where does that put you?

Could be he's harboring some resentment at us for putting his man through our engine.

OOG

Mm hmm, mm hmm...but I'm not keen on #1 being of Book's ideals, since he was quoting someone else's. But otherwise, I like the rest.

Well, one could argue that many things that their minister says are not teachings, but quotes from the bible. However I felt that as it did come out of the good sheperd's mouth, it could, in that loose interpretation be considered a teaching. Therefore it does fall within my specific criteria for choosing quotes. the quotes I chose for Jayne are not necessarily the funniest or most intriguing of his quotes, but the ones that could most be considered life lessons, IMHO.

I have given myself a specific, yet nerdy, goal of creating a top ten list of what characters say that could be interpreted as life lessons. It gets a little hard at times, so I take what I can get. I think I'm going a little bit extreme for the sake of my own amusement, but the OC part of my personality makes me want to do as many as I can. Zoe, Wash, Simon, and Inara will be difficult, so maybe the slacker part of me will let me off the hook if I do Mal's sayings.

I am such a geek.
