With the big damn movie coming out next year whats the betting fox re-release the dvd box sets with more extras .

anyway without doubt serenity is going to be the biggest movie next next crushing star wars episode (yawn) 3.

whats the betting all those that didnt like the tv series, crawl out of the wood work once serenity becomes a huge hit and now say that they love the show.
best way to screw with them give them a simple question or quote from the series to test em.

I, like all die-hard firefly fans cant wait for the films release next april.
in the mean time im dodgeing spoilers and looking forward to seeing pictures from the set and promo stills.

in the next few months us browncoats have alot to look forward to.

serenity lives .

Hmm, now that would be interesting...
What extra 'Extras' do you think they'd add?

Waiting impatiently for the release of Serenity, Mantichorus.

you know how fox like to screw people over so dont count on many if any new extras when they re-release the box set next year in the run up to the films release.

but (this isnt offical and only my thought)
this is the sort of thing they might do....

new packageing
tv spots
trailers for the big damn movie.

like i said not a lot but fox dose love screwing over the fans.

yeah I agree its so like fox to do that. not only do they charge £79.99 here in the uk for the Buffy and Angel DVD box sets (about $145.00) But they now are 're-releasing' the box sets over here for fans who can't afford the other ones at an affordable £40.00 ($72.00) yeah sure its great for those fans who 'can't afford it' but I personally don’t know anyone who hasn’t shelled out the cash to buy the box sets, so not only now are they going to change the price, the packing is also changing meaning most of the fans who own the 'expensive sets' will go and then buy the 'cheaper sets' as well. So yeah expect a new set and rather than release it with the movies release they may just release it in competition with the 'serenity' DVD when it comes out.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Not sure if Fox will release anything new or not. They are still raking in a fair amount of cash on the DVD set now. I am sure that if Fox wanted to they could probably dig up some shots that wound up on the cutting room floor and other things of interest.

I know one thing, I will not take a single fan for granted, whether they have been around since the beginning like myself and others, or they come along once the movie hits theatres. We need every fan we can get to make sure the movie is a success, and that the DVD sells as many copies as possible. We want the movies to do well, and we can keep our fingers crossed for a return to TV of a series.

Personally, I'm waiting for the new fans that come to this site.

"Ooh, wasn't Serenity an amazing film and - what? There was a series?"

That'll be fun.

i'd say that they are the most important fans at this point in time. those of you who've supported it from the start have got us this far, you did the impossible and that makes you mighty, but its the new people (like myself) coming on board that are going to make the difference between serenity crashing or flying at the box office. so bring em on i say :)

Couldn't agree more. We need to keep converting those that have not seen the show. We need to get the word out to those that have not heard of the show or the upcoming movie. We need to encourage new fans and make them feel right at home, we are all browncoats after all.

*offering hand*

Pleased to meet you, I have yet to shell out cash to buy all the DVD box sets. I have however shelled out on all the videos (and will likely do so with Angel season 5 - I'm replacing the earlier seasons as and when I see a DVD cheap.

Doing the same with B5 though have to say the added shelf space there is considerably more noticeable! All five seasons will probably take up the same space as one season when they are done (and no, I don't want to think about how much I've spent on that show over the years).

well i really doubt Fox will re release the TV series on dvd. It would cost them too much. They may reduce the price of it or change the packaging slightly. Maybe they will slap a sticker on the box saying 'Prequel to Serenity movie'. I will be suprised if Serenity is a massive hit. I don't expect it to be. I'd be happy as long as it's good and is recognised as a cult hit. I no way think it will anything near the size of Star Wars episode 3. If anyone can remeber when Pitch Black was originally released. It was shelved for months in the UK. Well i think it'll have a similar impact to that. Look how sucessfull that franchise became: 'chronicles of my ass'. Only time will tell.

How successful will Star Wars episode 3 be, though?
Most of the people I know didn't watch Attack of the Clones because of how luh-suh The Phatom Menace was. And let's face it, Attack of the Clones wasn't exactly shiny now, was it?
