In typical Zoë fashion I'm gonna bypass the niceties and get to the point.

I'm tired of being single.

And I figure that the Zoë/Wash scenerio is a good model to base a relationship from. And I could do worse than look for that man here on this forum (least we will have one thing in common -- love of this show)

No, I am not expecting a guy who looks like Alan Tudyk (or Nathan or Sean or Adam -- pretty as they all are). I do have a weakness for redheaded White men though...

What I like are Wash's characteristics -- sweet, perhaps a bit goofy, but intelligent and dependable. Loves what he does for a living (or a least, can tolerate it it as he as a real life outside of work). Will stand by "autumn flower". Knows that I will stand by him. Will bring me Kindereggs and origami paper instead of flowers.

Are you him?

Might be tough (and I won't bore you with a rant as to why), but it's worth a shot. Good luck to you. :) I'll agree, being single sucks. The key to finding nice, good people is to NOT go to the typical places like bars or clubs. I've found Karaoke to be a good place to meet nice people.

Well, I don't have red hair. Is there an application I can fill out?

Or should I just fold it into origami?

Red hair is my weakness not my priority. *wry smile*

As to an application, hmmm. I'll have to think on that one.

Now if you can come up with an origami Serenity then I will really be impressed

isn't it every single gal's problem that she's been spoiled by characters on tv and in movies that have a team of writers, not to mention wardrobe people behind them and never seem to pick their noses or fart or do anything real human beings do?

Well, this guy's not a redhead as far as I can tell from his profile ( http://forums.prospero.com/dir-app/bbcard/profile.asp?webtag=foxfirefl

[Dear gods, I hope that I'm not coming off as an idiot fangirl with no grasp of reality? I live in Toronto. I see lots of these actor types in their civies without makeup buying cigarettes. eg. Sean Connery without makeup and wardrobe is NOT a pretty picture]

Anyway I'm using Wash as a template. His character strikes me as just the type to pick his nose etc. (And I could just see Zoe roll her eyes when he does)

In fact, I have several "Wash"s in my acquaintance.

They married...

Can't help you out - I have my own (Simon's profession, Wash's temprement, Book's staunchness of faith - just wish he had Mal's looks too :D) - but I'm not sharing - sorry!

But perhaps it would be helpful if you were more specific about age and geography?

Good luck to you - I've often wondered how on EARTH I'd get to meet someone if I needed to - not easy!

I think I may be your guy, I'm 39 yrs. old, unbreakable, look like a cross between Jason Alexander & Oliver Platt, I'm honest(why else would I cop to looking like those two, funny, and I try to be kind.
The only problem is I live in the U.S. The Boston area to be precise.
If you would like some company "until your miracle arrives" let me know.

Yeah, I found that site about a year ago and also snagged Wing Commander 1 from there. Good stuff. I played the original Starflight in '86 and the Sega Genesis version when it came out and I loved both. I really wish there were a modern version of it, but the classic game still holds up pretty well.

Well, some fans (and a couple of the original programmers) are working on a sequel, but it's a ways off. You can check it out here.

I remember really enjoying that game. Wasn't there an alien race that communicated in binary? I remember my friend and I in high school tried to convert it into ASCII and came up with a phone number to some restraunt in San Francisco...

Yes, I believe they were called the Mechanoids or some such. My favorite were the Veloxi, hense the handle. They cracked me up with their delusions of grandeur. :)
