Could someone provide me with the link to the Cloud Atlas review, if one exists.

I recently watched the HD release on Amazon and thought it to be an amazing film. Gorram it! I did it again, I wanted to see it on the big screen but failed to go. And now I'm upset with myself.

Thanks in advance,

SGG

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I did see it in the theater, I liked it very much, and I did review it.

Haven't bought the Blu-Ray yet but I will soon.

Hey EC,

I really liked your review of Cloud Atlas. It was concise and meaningful, and pointed out the gist of the plot without giving too much away. Needless to say I agree with much of your review, just one small wrinkle though, I think that Tom Hanks (as well as all the characters) various lives were integral to the overall story (as you will no doubt see upon 2nd and 3rd viewings). His character changes the most.

I agree about the language in the post-apocalyptic part of the story, it was hard to follow (especially in the initial viewing), but you get it a bit more upon 2nd and 3rd viewings. That's another thing that I like about this movie, each time you see something you didn't quite catch the time before. It's meant for multiple viewings (that's how I discovered that Hanks' character, as did all of them, was important to the overall piece).
I was not aware that it was thought to be un-filmable, a lot like Life of Pi, but Ang Lee did a fantastic job (although it did have it's flaws, but it did little to take away from it's overall beauty and wonder).

I agree also that it's this year's Top Film so far, actually last year, 2012. Halle Berry was very good, as was the Korean actress, Doona Bae (I'm in love), and I thought Jim Sturgess did a masterful job, especially in the Neo Seoul version of the story. Hanks' performance in the various roles were uneven, but I really enjoyed the performances overall. I was pleasantly surprised by Hugh Grant, the guy was not half bad.

I have a digital copy, but I think I may buy the Blu-ray as well. Let me know what extras it has when you do get it. The digital copy had a half hour or so of behind the scenes footage and interview with the Wachowskis and Tykwer, which proves to be very interesting. They talk about their approach and insights into the film.

Thanks EC

Thanks for posting Two.

I read Roger Ebert's review. It was as good as the film itself, a masterful work of art about a work of art. Ebert was at the top of his game with this review, which gave a wonderful description as to the task at hand - how to review a masterwork of art in film.

Again Thanks!

I haven't bought the Blu-Ray yet, but I do have it in my Netflix queue, so should get it the second week of June unless there is a long wait on it. Then I'll decide if I want to buy it.
