There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Nathan Fillion will be appearing at Dallas Comic Con in May. The event schedule has not been posted yet so I don't know which days he will be there, but I would think at least Saturday the 18th for sure.

It will be at the Irving Convention Center, the same venue as the past few years. Official-Pix organizes several cons throughout the year, Sci-Fi Expo in February, Comic Con in May, Fan Days in October. Last year I saw Adam, Jewel, Ron and Sean at the Expo, but missed the fact that Summer was at Comic Con in May since she was a late addition to the guest list, but I got to meet Gina and Alan at Fan Days. Since I missed Summer I made sure I was on their email list so I could keep informed of all developments. Hopefully Nathan will be able to keep that commitment for May, but at times other things intervene and someone has to cancel.

There are a ton of other great guests lined up for May, which you can see on this page - http://www.scifiexpo.com/DCC/dcc-guests.html

Will I see you there?

The site says that over 65% of Nathan's autograph tickets have already sold. That was posted Wednesday, I just ordered my own, so that figure may be up to 70% or more already. You might still have a chance to get an autograph from him if you wait, but no guarantee.

He is charging $70 per autograph, which is a bit more than I expected, but our Big Damn Hero is worth it, and I may not get the chance to see him again for a long time. Hopefully I can get him to autograph the #1 issue of the original Serenity comic, plus his character card from the Inkworks set. If so, my collection will be complete except for Summer's character card.

Adam Baldwin is a late addition to the guest list. Also, an unexpected job commitment means Nathan has to leave early on Sunday, but he will now be there tomorrow afternoon (Friday, May 17), signing between 4-7pm (Central time) with photo-op from 7-8. Same schedule as before on Saturday, but he'll be outta there before noon on Sunday.

The schedule change screwed up my weekend plans. Still going Sunday, just have to get an earlier start now.

Nathan just canceled. I'll still be going tomorrow to get some other autographs, and since Nathan's line was likely to be the longest one that will free up my time quite a bit.

$ 70?? When I saw him in 2008 at FX International Con in Orlando he was asking only $ 20 or $ 30..(I forget which) for a signed and personalized photo. In fact I got two of them, one for a friend at work who first introduced me to Firefly a few years before.

It was a madhouse there, I tell you, a MADHOUSE! It's hard to think how bad it might have been if Nathan actually did show up. This is the fourth time I've been to that venue, and each time they have handled both the crowds and the celebrities in a different way. Today there was at least double the number of people that were there last February when I met Adam, Jewel, Ron and Sean.

We had to wait out in the heat of the lower level of the parking garage around two hours before we actually got into the convention center. I was somewhere in the middle of the very long line, probably a thousand people ahead of me and at least that many behind, although they were continuing to line up after we started progressing toward the lobby.

The Fringe panel started about fifteen minutes late, and the VIP section was only about a quarter full, but they wouldn't let us general admission people move up to the closer seats. I think one of the main reasons the hall wasn't full of VIPS is they were down on the main floor getting autographs from the Star Trek people, Shatner, McFadden, Spiner and Burton. All the comic artists were down there too. Also, one of the up escalators broke down and for some reason they were not directing people to use the outside stairs. I stayed on the fourth floor because the other autograph rooms were right next to the main auditorium where the panel was.

I did get autographs from John Noble and Jasika Nicole from Fringe, and Colin Ferguson from Eureka. Adam had a photo-op at that time, and he probably had lunch after that. He was scheduled to be back to the signing table at 2:30, but by 3:15 I gave up because there were at least a couple hundred people ahead of me, and I already have his autograph on three items.

There was someone in one of the lines who said he had a suspicion Nathan was going to cancel a week before it was announced. He thought it was the reason Adam was added to the guest list at that time, and that Official Pix knew it but held off announcing it so they didn't have to refund the money until after the con. Not saying that is the case, but it makes sense.

I had already pre-paid for two autographs from Nathan, but it might be a couple of weeks before that money is back in my account, or else I might have gotten some from a few others.

Took my daughter today and we had a good time. It was crowded but not as bad as I thought it would be, or apparently how bad it was Saturday. The lines for the panels were long so we skipped them, and got in line early for pictures. We traded in our Fillion photo op for a Adam and Colin.

We were going to head out after getting Adam's picture but we decided to make one more trip past the panel room, as Colin Ferguson's was about to start.
There was no line. I assume because they were all waiting to get a picture with Adam because it was packed. We sat down in the back and Colin mentioned the VIP section was empty, everyone should move up. That was pretty cool. We got center stage about 6 rows back and laughed till we had tears in our eyes. He was so funny. It was the highlight of the day.
