Has anybody ever seen this anime show called Trigun?

It's a great show, very deep, and made me cry on more than one occasion, as well as go holy crap at some of the things that happen.

It is kind of similar to Firefly and yet totally different at the same time.

Trigun, like Firefly is set in the future with the western twang.

In Trigun, earth no longer exists so they've created more planets to live on, however something happened so most of the modern technology was lost, throwing people back into the western life style.

There is even a priest with a questionably past!

Like I said before, very similar to Firefly, and yet totally different.

If you have seen it, did you like it.

If you haven't, i highly recommend looking it up.

It's funny you should mention Trigun (my favorite all time anime) i was going to post on the "story behind you user name' thread,my typical alias is Vash the Stampede, but i wanted something with a Firefly flare,so i went weith the BSCG name, but anyhoo, more on topic. I've thought on more than one occasion that Trigun has numerous similarities to Firefly, especially Wolfwood's shady past...

I love this show. It's my favorite anime too. Is there really only one (two?) seasons? I love the whole Faith, and love in the background. Plus...if Vash and Wolfwood were real...they'd be totally hot...yes i'm a dork i know.

I loved how Wolfwood would always say ...Vash the Stampede... it always gave me shivers.

dang it!

I started watching it on Cartoon Networks Adult Swim every night. (In Arizona it was on at 10 pm, rather than 1 am) i must have watched it all the way through like 4 times, (some of the episodes made me cry every time!) then came daylight savings time (which, Arizona doesn't observe) so it switched to 11 pm, and since i'm still a good lil' highschool going girl i couldn't afford to stay up that late...by the time it was Spring Forward, they'd already taken off Trigun from Adult Swim...

GUNHAND

I've heard about it some but the most I heard were some Trigun fans trying to say that Firefly was just, and I quote here,"A complete ripoff of Trigun." Which make me ornery and disinclined to actually want to watch it. Not because I have something against it per se, but because I have something against the morons who tried to start that argument with me.

Well they did start it. I ended it.

I like Trigun, but I think Firefly has more in common with Cowboy Bebop.

ZOID

Howdy, 'howdy':

I like Trigun, but not as much as Cowboy Bebop (mmm, Faye Valentine!). Personally, I believe you've got to be looking pretty hard, with your eyes squinched up and hitting a few beers +/- spliffs to parallel anything to Firefly (except of course 'Gilligan's Island'), especially Oriental world-view anime.

Respectfully,

zoid

And that, gentlebeings, is why I can't watch animé.

Canadian TV sucks!!!

(Also: $200 US = ~$275 Canadian. Plus tax.)

Has anyone else read the Trigun manga? It's mostly the same (except for revealing some of the huge plot twists in the first book) until the end where Vash never confronts knives and it continues for another 9 books. Is very different from the series, but also very good.
