There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Well, I suffered through six or seven eps before bailing. Sorry, Jewel, better luck next time.

Then you missed season 2 when Jewel says in shock, “I'm pregnant.” You missed when Jewel got wide eyed during a cavity search in LA jail for driving drunk. “I'm living the dream,” was her immortal words after making bail. Then she has group therapy on the reality TV show Celebrity Rehab -- the ultimate humiliation. Then the World Premiere of her latest project is held in the pool area of her dirty peeling paint apartment building . . .

I have to agree. Her character is an aging actor with few scruples, and just caused an accident and got a DUI. Pretty much Kaylee's evil twin from an alternate universe, but Jewel can act. This character is anything but shiny, and Jewel nails it.

I watch the show for her. I almost hope Raquel finds redemption.

Sadly I only made it thru about 2 1/2 eps on Hulu. I was watching it for Jewel. The black gay subplot wasn't for me at all.

I watched, a few esps, simply for Jewel.

I found the show entirely icky, for several reasons, though I suppose that's the general view they want to promote for that side of the business.

Were there ANY positive or redeeming themes or characters , at all ? I didn't see any.

Hope this doesn't leave a bad mark on her resume'.

Maybe she can find her way on Degrassi, TNG. That show seems to be immortal.

Jewel's icky character was sued by two production companies and she was stealing credit card numbers as a bartender between acting jobs. Car burglary and selling her own tainted blood was probable for season 3.

I think Jewel was doing a great job with the character she was given to play, but the problem was that character was completely unsympathetic. That goes for every other character on the show as well, unless they introduced a good one after I stopped watching.

What was her blood tainted with ? Or had they gotten to that part yet ?

I saw the one ep where she basically drank all day... I guess she ended up getting a DUI after that ? I kinda dozed off.

In season 3 her blood will be tainted with wood alcohol - the delicious Badger Cocktail, you know, from her old show.

In season 2 she had an invitation to walk on the red carpet. She skips that opportunity, gets drunk, changes her mind, on the way to the premiere she smashes the car. "Did Jewel survive?" was the cliffhanger for the episode.

If you had seen the wreck, you'd remember the episode. Jewel's head breaks the side window, she is unconscious with blood on her face.

A name change for the hypothetical third season:
The L.A. Complex becomes Psychodrama Queens, which better captures the show's dynamic. Jewel Staite is the best at playing that in the show.

I guess I missed the wreck. I saw the 'lead up', and it seemed pretty clear how things were gonna play out.
