I just got done watching NCIS, which is the only show I've actually made time to watch every week from the pilot on in...forever.

Adam Baldwin did a hell of a fine job (as always) as a Navy SEAL officer, in fact he pretty much nailed it.

Nice to see he got promoted from an (E-4 if I recall right, need to find my DVD) M-60 Gunner (Animal Mother) to a Commander (O-5). Too bad he had to transfer out of the shinier part of the Department of the Navy to get it though...

"Oh hey, I got an idea. Instead of us hanging
around playing art critic till I get pinched by
the Man, how's about we move away from this
eerie-ass piece of work and get on with our
increasingly eerie-ass day, how's that?"

What are you referring to?

BTW, he played the same character earlier this season on JAG.

In Full Metal Jacket he was an USMC M-60 gunner named Animal Mother.

Then on NCIS he was a Navy SEAL officer.

So it was sorta a joke that he, Adam himself, is coming up in the world going from an NCO machinegunner to the equivilent of being a Lt. Colonel.

The Department of the Navy bit is a paraphrased version of an old Marine joke about the Navy Department and it's two constituent services. Likely to help to start a barroom brawl in any port of call worthy of the name where Marines and Navy sorts mix, in the full version that is.

He was (as always) damn good in Full Metal Jacket. Some of the most creepifiying lines in that movie come out of his mouth.

I've been a fan of his ever since "My Bodyguard" way back when. Very talented actor, especially when he gets to be somewhat of a kinda-bad but not all the way bad guy.

I think Adam's character is a cross over from the time he played a SEAL who was buying nerve gas on JAG to keep it from terrorists.

Both of the firefly actors today did a fine job.

Could very well be, I haven't watched JAG for a really long time, I dated a woman that looked exactly like the Marine JAG lawyer on it. Negative vibes from that ruined kinda the show for me.

Yep I'm shallow sometimes.
