I have no knowledge that this will happen, just asking hypothetically, if someone like David Boreanaz or Alexis Denisof, who's been on both Buffy and Angel, does turn up in the BDM, does that count as a hat trick? Or would they have had to have been on the show?

Thoughts? Opinions?

America loves a winner!

Sure seem to me that it would count. I don't see what difference it would make.... movie or show. Firefly/Serentiy is still Joss's creation. Same characters, same 'verse, same ship...etc. Why would it matter on what size screen it shows up on?

I'm not gonna count on it happening, but it sure would be shiny!

just speaking of hat tricks, in the commentary for one of the eps, they mention that the guy who played tracey is one of only two to ever hat trick for joss. i just wanted to know who the other person was and what parts they played on each of the series? i know the guy who played tracey played the eventually-evil lab assistant to fred (i can't remember his name, do you?) in angel, but i don't know who he was on buffy. and who was this other mysterious, but obviously talented, hat tricker? and his/her parts?

Tracey/Knox was a vampire psych student in the Buffy episode Conversations with Dead People. I'm not sure who the "other" was intended to be -- there have been more than two. Dobson was also Ken on Buffy and Doyle's ex-wife's new fiance on Angel. The commander in Serenity was also D'Hofron on Buffy and the doctor who's body came apart on Angel. And there are tons of people who've done two of the three shows (including Nathan, Gina, and Adam).

There have been some other threads about this -- you might want to check the archieved ones.

I think there is a two people long list who had not only parts on all three shows but _died_ on all three shows.

and Tracy/Knox/'psych-student vampire' is one of those.

don't know who the other is. probably one of the already mentioned ones.

The sad thing about Jonathan Woodward's roles is that he was at his most likable as the psych-student Vampire.

I'm not sure who the other is, either. To the best of my knowledge, the commander on Serenity didn't die, none of the blue handed men did, and neither Doyle's ex-wife's fiance. So it must be someone we haven't mentioned yet.

thanks delia, i'll have to check some other threads. i was listening to the commentary for "the message" and i thought i heard jewel and alan say there were only two joss hat tricks....now i'm going to have to go back and listen to my commentary again....alas, the suffering i must endure.

They're actors, not reporters.

Also, consider the possibility that a lot of these roles are very minor. It's possible people were cast on all three shows by coincidence, and no one (except them) realized they had done all three. Only the fans (with their l33t reporting skillz0r) would dig up the links Joss never noticed (and thus, never told anyone else about).

do you have to talk to become a Hat Trick? Because Angel's stunt double has been on Angel (duh) and Buffy (duh) and is also one of Niska's thugs in The Train Job.

I was just reviewing some "Angel" stuff at imbd and realized that Andy Hallet (Lorne) has been on both BtVS and A:tS. He would make a cool hat trick for die hard Joss fans as most people wouldn't recognize him without the green makeup. He could be performing at some saloon where the gang stops to get a new contact...maybe singing a song about Wash, the once laconic pilot from flight school who was fired from a fry cook opportunity.
