The Raspberry Pi, a computer system on a card, for 35 bucks. Hook it up to a few cheap peripherals, and you've got a cheap machine to teach or learn REAL programming, or use as you see fit. It's British, and it sold out on opening day, but it's quite powerful.

Nifty 4 rotor drones, smaller than a pizza pan, and fairly easy to D-I-Y. Theoretically shrinkable to bug-sized, and capable of flying under a closed door. Add a little R/C control and rule the world.

Personally, I'd love to get involved with either or both.

FLORALBUNNY

I lusted after it, and its 25-buck little brother.

For MY little brother (to whom I enjoy giving model helicopters) I slobbered over the other thing. Would make my sister-in-law crazy...
