Hello
I am trying to get some 12 inch figures of the entire cast of firefly made for myself and my daughter. I have found a company that will make them, with professionally made outfits and head scults. However, in order to make it cost effective I need to get people with me who are willing to buy the set. If you are interested Please contact me.
Thank you.

I'm also curious as to how much they would cost. Also, do you know what material they'd be made of? Will they be poseable or just statuesque? I'm always looking for new figures, if the price is right. :)

Quotes would be based upon how many people I had going in with me. The sculpts are made of resin. the figures would basically b g I joe type figures. To sculpt the heads it will be approximately 3 to 400 dollars each. However that price will be divided amongst however many people we can get to go in on it. The outfits will look like the outfits from the show they are taylormade.

3-400 each character? That's too much for me. I already collect Asian ball-jointed dolls (also made of resin) and spend quite a bit on those. I don't think I can spend almost the same for action figures. I'm also guessing that the 3-400 price is just for the head sculpt and not the outfits as well. Or am I misunderstanding? If it's 3-400 with the head, body, and outfit, then it's not too bad. Still too much for me, but it's not bad for a resin figure.

No the cost of the 3 to 400 would be divided amongst the people if we had 10 people to go in on it the cost would be 30 to 40 dollars. Cost of the closing is approximately 60 to 80 dollars an outfit however that as well we would get a discounted price. The more people we get to go in on this the cheaper the cost of the figures.

I'd suggest checking this thread

http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.asp?b=19&t=51000
here, and this thread

http://www.fireflyprops.net/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=324

for a set of pretty amazing character sculpts already out there.

I think before folks will commit money, they would need to see the caliber of the work being done.

If you read the posts in the threads I referenced, one of the posters mentions that he contacted the sculptor who replied that he would sell them for $35.00 apiece.

It will take a little bit of searching to get the contact info,
but it should still be easier than engaging a whole new project.

From the Fireflyprops thread:

Ok. He answered to me and said, he'd sell casts of these heads!
price would be around 35$/head and they are the same size as the 12" Sideshow Figures, so customnizing shouldn't be so difficult.

he also said, that he plans to do all the serenity-crew and just needs a bit more time to finish Kaylee!
The rest of the crew will ned a year or two to get finished, but I think it's worth the wait...

I'll order when Kaylee is finished, so anybody in Germany, wie schauts aus? Sammelbestellung? ^^

If you'd like to order some heads, just email him. The adress is on the pics. But he said it'll take some time to cast the heads, because he has much work to do.

he only sold his scoulpts to peaople who contacted him via eMail and never put one of these on ebay....

My apologies. It was late and I didn't read the posts. Thank you I got in touch with mister Grove, the sculptor. He currently has 5 of the 9 Head sculps still available. 35 dollars each with 5 dollars shipping and handeling in the U.S.

They're gorgeous! I remember seeing these awhile back but never thought he'd be selling them. I just bought a Mal and Jayne to start. So excited! I needed a new project for when I've completed my epic collage of Firefly goodness. :)
