Never watched Big Bang Theory before it went into syndication this Fall. Now I'm addicted to it. So funny, so brilliant, I'm lucky to have at least found it now. There are enough episodes to show two a night and so far it's all new to me. Is it the funniest show ever? Could be.

Neil DeGrasse-Tyson says it's his favorite show, too, so you're in good company.

I think the funniest show on now is "How I Met Your Mother", the show and Neil Patrick Harris should win EMMYS every year, but that P.O.S. called "30 Rock" and that loonatic Alec Baldwin stole them. But I do enjoy watching "Big Bang" before "BONES" on Thursday.

I started watching this about three months ago for the first time. I'd seen odd little bits here and there and the full episode which featured Summer but I always put it down as just another typical American comedy like so many before it.
But something must have kept bugging me or I saw a bit late one night (I can't remember) but whatever it was it persuaded me to give it a go.
Now I really love the show and think it's brilliant. I'm a couple of episodes from the end of season 3 and whilst Sheldon is a standout I think that Raj may be my fave character although I don't know why. This is especially so when he gets one up on the other guys.

Funniest show ever??
No. That would fall to something like Fawlty Towers or some other classic British comedy.
Funniest American show ever??
That is quite possible, it's certainly the best in recent years.

Glad to see I'm not the only late arrival to the party. Where are you up to?

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

It's one of the few shows I watch live these days, not necessarily because I love it, and it's certainly not the funniest show currently, but rather because it's not available on Hulu later. Community is much funnier, it's too bad it has to compete with TBBT, and I think even Modern Family is funnier.

Jim Parsons as Sheldon is good, but over-rated imo. His character is so one-note, the jokes surrounding him are so repetitive. I like Raj and Howard as much as anyone else, but Amy is growing on me quite a bit.

I started watching in September. The So. Fla. independent station Ch.33, airs 2 episodes every night. That's over 30 a month for two months, so it must be around 60-75 shows they've aired here. I've seen the one with Summer on the train (a classic), and I've seen Katie Sackhoff taking a bubble bath with Howard. The show makes me literally roar out loud with laughter.

Agreed. Community is awesome. I've only seen a little of Modern Family but I like what I saw and would be willing to watch more.

TBBT is too conventional for me. I find it boring and the characters very one-dimensional, particularly the 'hot girl.' Any show that needs a laugh track these days has something wrong with it.

I love that show! I've liked it for a while and tried to get my dad into it, but it took the actor who plays Sheldon winning an Emmy for him to really try more than one episode, now he loves loves loves it! I don't know anyone who doesn't like Big Bang, I relate to it, which doesn't usually happen with sitcoms. Its the only adult sitcom I've ever liked, the others I like have kids in them and are geared towards younger audiences, the ones I grew up with you know?

Love TBBT! Appeals to the nerd/geek in me. Season 4 kinda lost it's way with all the new characters, but it's back to classic geek perfection in season 5. Maybe we'll learn Penny's last name someday!
