Fox is what keeps Joss off of TV or kills a successfull Joss show IMHO.

Fox the network and Fox the studio are different entities for the most part. I think the network might get right of first refusal on Fox studio productions or something like that. Anyway Joss has never had anything bad to say about the studios. I believe Buffy, Angel and Firefly all went through Fox studios and were well supported. That's why he still works with them as far as I understand.

I'd watch it, regardless of what network Joss got a deal with to air the show. Would I go nuts? Ruttin' right I would! I'd do the Dance of Joy until I passed out.

Amen brother! I would love to see where Joss's vision for his beloved 'verse could take us... many of us here write fan fiction, listen to filk, attend cons in order to connect with others who love the 'verse as much as we do, even run a whole fan group, the 76th Battalion, to keep the dream alive... if we're so passionate & able to carry the torch, then Joss can bring it back to life for us! His comics have been wonderful - I've really enjoyed the character's who've returned in them!

I, for one, would celebrate & be as nervous, excited & overprepared as I would be for a first date with a massive crush!

Whatever the circumstances with the origianal BDHs I know Joss could work something out! Whether we saw Serenity with a slightly changed crew or whether we travel with another 'family' & met up with old friends from time to time, I would embrace any new chapter from Joss with open arms!

I think that First right of refusal is the biggest problem.

You can't say the production company and the network are seperate. sure if a network has a big hit they aren't going to care what production company it is from but I stull think that in house products have a bit more leeweigh. What if Firefly or dollhouse was not a fox show. maybe cw had first right of refusal would they have let it run longer played with the format less. Heck if WB/cw was the production company on Angel would they have had a more vested interest in picking it up from Fox, or even start it on gthere nwtwork would it have run longer.

Maybe Joss like working with Fox studio, but on the TV side linking it to fox network is suicide for his shows and I don't think any other studio would change the product as much as a network does and may give it a better chance. So yes I still think he has to dump that studio and Fox period so we get a better shot at longer runs of his shows.
