Thanks for making Firefly and serenity. Thanks for making a concept far deeper and more glorious than Star trek. thanks for the time, effort, and sweat. Now get a cop on and finish the job. : )

Hey there, Welcome.

Joss is trying to continue the story however he can, there's even some talks about some after the movie comic books.

No news about continuations in film, but if Avengers does well, you never know.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Don't thank us, we're just fans like you. No one involved with the production of Firefly has anything to do with this site.

In any case, welcome aboard the best boat in the 'verse. Plenty to talk about, lots of fanfic and great artwork in the Blue Sun Room. Just try to avoid the trolls and be wary of RWED, it's dangerous in there.

You don't give yourself enough credit! Even Joss Whedon gives the fans credit for Serenity being made.

The BDM most definitely did not suck, but it didn't make any money either. Is that my fault too? I don't think so, since I bought at least fifteen tickets for myself and others when it was in theaters.

That's my point! It didn't suck! So those of us who came after the movie was made have all the original fans to thank. I only wish that the advertising campaign had been a little better, then I would have bought 15 tickets myself. Now all I can do is contribute to the dvd sales. And blu-ray, and comics... You get the point. My wife doesn't get the point, but you get the point.

I'm scared of how awry after-the-movie comics could go, but my saving grace here is that a decent chunk of fans don't read the comics, so the fanfic I read and review regularly won't be terribly effected by a bad comic outcome if that happens. In my opinion, the BDHs have become too big to make official outcomes for, too powerful, have become too much to so many people. I should try to be optimistic like Byte I suppose but I fear what making official outcomes beyond the BDM would do. Just how I feel. Maybe they really do come read these fan pages.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Heh, they'll probably end up just doing a lot of before the movie comics. They kinda expanded the timeline in Shepherd's Tale, which is generally a sign that there about to set stories in that timeframe.

As for relationship concerns, Joss may do a lot of shiptease ( http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ShipTease) even between characters that aren't remotely a couple (Jayne and Simon even), but how often do those ships with existing characters end up together if there isn't some establishing basis from early on?

You have a core cast, and judging by Joss' tendencies, if characters aren't put together from the start, there's a good chance he'd bring in new characters before he would randomly ship together regulars that had no prior chemistry. You don't want to mix up the relationships between the core characters too much is what I'm saying. Certain characters have roles, some characters are Like Brother and Sister, one character is the Team Dad, one character is the Team Mom, and a writer messes with that at their own peril.
