Well this is just gonna be a goofy thread, hey it's posted by me so there's no big surprise there...

But I've noticed a lot of tattoos on the crew of Serenity, but there are a couple I'm not so sure about and probably a few I missed.

Okay so we have Kaylee having one on the small of her back, not so sure what that one is, horse or unicorn maybe?

Jayne has that really nice multicolored one which reminds me of the logo on his Fighting Elves T-shirt.

And Mal has one on his thigh. This one I have no clue what it is because it's just a black squiggly looking thing to me and while Nathan is a good enough looking guy it's not in my character to pause and stare at guys' thighs. So anyone have any idea what it is?

Also wondering if any of y'all have a Firefly related tattoo?

I will after next week.

Well, I have a Buffy tattoo and an Angel tattoo, so the next one will be Firefly. I'm thinking of getting the line drawing of Serenity or "You Can't Take the Sky From Me" across the top of my back over my angel wings tattoo (no, that's not my Angel tv show related tattoo)

That sounds pretty shiney.

I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I'm getting, I have about 4 drawings I did but I'm one of those sort that always fusses over the little things, after all it's gonna be on there forever.

Going for something fairly simple though, all the designs have Serenity spelled out in Chinese characters but then the borders and coloring are the bits I'm fiddling over.

No idea what Mal's is, and believe me, I have looked...LOL

Jayne's is a ying/yang with a red dragon...and you can make out the letter M in the ying/yang part.

Kaylee's is actually Jewell's tattoo and I am told it is a Unicorn. General consensus is it was supposed to be covered up but someone missed it.

Actually, Mal's tattoo is also really one the actor has, but it seems fairly certain this one was left in on purpose.

No Firefly tattoo's of my own yet, but it is about time to add to my collection, been thinking of getting one but have yet to decide what or where.

Okay you will not meet a more loyal brown coat than me but I would never ever permantly alter my body's appearance for anyone or anything. The only thing that goes on my lily white skin is expensive lotion.

This will actually be my first one.

Funny thing is I'm going with the ranch owner's wife since she wants to get another one. My reasoning being that if I'm getting mine done at the same time as a 50-something year old lady then my chances of screaming like a baby are highly reduced. I mean, don't wanna look like a pansy in comparison, so I'll be all stoic and take the pain. I hope.

I have her beat on earrings though, but that's a long story.

This used to be my reasoning too, but the thing is no one will know what it says unless I tell them. They'll just see Chinese letters and go,"Huh."

Plus the concept of a cowboy with a Chinese tattoo just strikes me as hi-lerious given the history of the Chinese in the real Old West. Seems sorta fitting.

Aw, they aren't that bad...really...I have three. Well, four actually, but two of them look like one.

In all honesty, my next one will be an owl for my Gram's, been planning that one since she passed away but took me a long time to find the right one. So Firefly will be after that.

I agree, the pain isn't that bad...feels more like a burning than anything and you get used to it. I should know - I have 11 tattoos!

Yes, there is an M in the centre of one, and an A in the centre of the other. "MA". Isn't that sweet?
