is it just me or does the slight pause on the region 2 dvd annoy anyone or is it just me?

i mean it says on the box slight pause may happen fine ok, but an episode just starts.. then theres a pause, then the episode continues.

with the standard and quality of home entertainment now at its greatest i say all slight pauses on dvds should be outlawed.

just my thought.

WHY WHY AND WHY AGAIN WAS FIREFLY CANCELED?

?

I'm not sure what you're referring to. There are 2 second pauses where the commercials go; Joss's people went to great trouble to add those pauses, because he felt they were important for preserving the dramatic element.

What im on about is.. on one or two of the episodes, they start pause for a slight moment, then continue on as normal.i understand what you mean about the commercial pauses.im really not bothered any more ive got firefly as long as they play thats all that matters.

If you're talking about the pause like the one when Inara's sponge-bathing, it's intentional...Joss being 'arty farty' as he puts it.

It just the way it works, mine does that all the time, it generally depends on what player it is in. When i watch on my laptop and have to pause it for some reason, and then hit play it will go for about 5 seconds, and then have a slight pause. i think it is just their to ensure that the audio and visual are in sync. Hope that clears it up for you at least a little bit.

BECAUSE FOX CEOs ARE A BUNCH OF GORRAM... oh, the DVD issue. Right.

I don't consider digital anything to be superior. Only superior recording gives superior output. I've noticed MOST DVDs are crap.

It's this sort of thing that keeps me from buying DVDs unless I've heard it's a superior recording. I mean, if I pays da money I don't want any pauses.. ever! It's my MONEY! IT COSTS WHAT?!?!?!?! *chuckle* And the remastered/directors cuts with 'extra' whatever hasn't impressed me at all. Take the old Star Trek movies on DVD right now, I refuse to buy any of them. Why? Because the 'remastering' is crap. The new FX are worse! I could go on...

Note to DVD makers; I've got my eye on you.

i agree dvd,s arent as good as the studios and retailers would have you beleive.

but as firefly hadnt been shown here in the uk on normal tv , it was the only way to of seen it at all.

so it was a catch 22.

^^^ that's not a Catch22 actually. A Catch22 is an oxymoronic situation more or less. Anyho'... I should point out I've heard many nice things about the Firefly DVDs (except this pause thing) and I'm sure that has contributed to thier successful sales.
