VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE FIREFLY CAST MEMBER!

I've been chuckling as I read the various threads in which each actor has been labled a "hottie" at some point or another. One of the actors even said he's "petulantly jealous that Nate and Alan's hottie threads dwarf mine." (Jokingly, I'm sure!) The earth-shattering question remains - who is the ULTIMATE hottie? Let's settle this once and for all! Envison each person walking down the catwalk. CAST YOUR VOTE: Which male & female actor on Firefly rocks your boat the most, and what characteristic about him/her rocks it? Is it the role on Firefly, or the actor in general?

And to the actors, if any of you read this; thank you for your humor about this cheesy and exploitive thread. We're only having a little fun.

FINAL RESULTS:

MEN:
1. Jayne (38)
2. Mal (36)
3. Simon (21)
4. Wash (11)
5. Gunhand (4)

WOMEN:
1. Kaylee (20)
2. Zoe (15)
3. Inara (8)
4. River (7)
5. Saffron (6)

Many thanks to everyone who voted. I think it's safe to say that we had alot of fun here, and I look forward to posting with all of you on other threads!

7/2: I just had to dig up my old poll (sorry about the long download). I had to actually start a second thread once this one became too long. The big question of the day is...ANYONE READY FOR ANOTHER SILLY POLL??

My vote doesn't really count because I lean towards women. But if I had a vote..

Adam Baldwin, simply because he looks a heck of a lot like me.

No one ever built a statue of me though, so I'll have to be a little bit jealous and suchlike.

Well, shoot, let's vote for the women too!

My vote goes to Gina Torres/Zoe. What an excellent role to play!

And I've long been a fan of Adam Baldwin. (Early 80's) Back when he was getting hype for "Independence Day," I thought "Everyone is just noticing him now?" And hearing that he's a family man makes him all the more interesting to me! I wish I could be more eloquent, but I'm a bit tired. Thanks for your vote!

The scene where Saffron is all naked and articulate. My reaction to that scene is very similar to Mals... "Whoa - Good Bible" My John Thomas was ready to pop off and fly all round the room she was so tasty.

Perhaps Haken could set this up as a poll?

My vote would have to be for Jayne. It took me many episodes to come to this conclusion, but now I'm there I'm sticking with it.

See this is tough, because it kind of depends on the mood I'm in. I mean, they're a damn fine looking group of men. But if I had to pick one . . . . I think I'd stall a lot and avoid the decision.

Still stalling.

Oh, all right. Probably either Mal or Simon. Possibly Wash. But not Book (he's a little old for me) and while I think Adam Baldwin is gorgeous, Jayne is not my type. (I go for brains. Also, dark hair and blue eyes.)

Simon. Odd that I was so attracted to him at first sight... only to realize that all the problems Kaylee has with him are the same ones that I perpetually find myself in when it comes to dating...

But yeah, I also second the blue eyes/dark hair thing. And intelligence to boot.

Gets me every time.

Definately Jayne for me. He's so tall and manly and I love them bad boys!

I love that he had so much potentual to grow as a character, that little boy quality to him. Those hands, those eyes, those shoulders, that butt!!

Aww shucks, gonna make me hehe.

I don't have the exciting life of Jayne though, I'm just a cowboy. I don't smack 'em much though. Plus I have a pretty un-Jaynelike personality, sorta a combination of Wash and Mal.

Now if we're opening it up to the ladies of Firefly though...hard choice there, they're all gorgeous for their own special reasons.

Inara- That classy girl that you always had daydreams of but were afraid to go up to because she was too good for ya. I'd be in a Mal state with Inara.

Kaylee- What can I say, she's just adorable, sweet and someone you know you could lean your head on at the end of a bad day and everything would be all good.

Zoe- Warrior women, gotta love them. Zoe would be a wild fling down south of the border in Old Mexico, and she'd be helping you start the brawl that got ya into jail. What's not to love?

River- River's the broken little doe you just want to fold up into your arms and make her know that everything will be all better.

YoSafBridge- Reminds me a hell of a lot of a few women I've dated. The crazy time parts not the feet washing, but hey crazy time can be fun too. Wonder how Inara'd analyse that one...

But if it came down to being at barrel's end and having to chose right now, Kaylee I imagine, perfect combo of sweet and sexy, plus I like the jumpsuits.

Pain is scary...

Alright, so now we have a man that claims he is very Jayne-esques. Time for all you Simon wannabes to come out....

See, I think Jayne is just so... well, for lack of words: and . I'm surprised more of the ladyfolk haven't spoken up for Mal.

Anyhow, I must elaborate on Simon. Not only is he the sexiest, he's also intelligent, loyal and devoted, nurturing, and very well dressed. And out in the 'verse, it's good to be with the only man around who can safely remove bullets...

Oh Simon...

Its really really close between Nathan Fillion and Sean Maher. You are soo mean to make me pick!

i shall not conform to your ways! I will simply say BOTH Nathan and Sean! So THERE! How do you like THEM APPLES! I love them both for the same reasons, i love their voices and the way they talk, i love their eyes, and i love how they are muscular but not completely ripped(which i think makes men look fake and gross)

For once in my life, I'll be decisive. Simon. For that shirtless thing, as mentioned above. Also, I was impressed with Sean Maher because he was in the role that was restrained. He conveyed a lot without often getting to play "big" (like Jayne, Wash or Mal -- which is not meant to be a criticism of Adam, Alan, or Nathan. It's just a different kind of role.)

But Mal is pretty fine, too. Plus, he was all naked that one time and frequently articulate.

But I'll stick with Simon.

Got ya going, didn't I? I ran across that thread signed by...Jayne (Adam Baldwin) himself! Seems like the guy has a sense of humor! And yet, look who appears to be winning this poll? (See how I egg-on EVERYONE to vote!) Let's give the cast something to talk about between takes! The role AB plays may not be for everyone, and that's because it's played so well by the actor.

How I wish I had time to go over characteristics of each roll and the actor/actress who portrays him/her. Besides from obvious physical attributes, I'd like to talk about the personalities of each character. I'd vote for each and every character at one point or another, for one reason or another. But did I mention that I've been a fan of AB's since the early 80's?

Be warned, I may come back to enlighten all of you on my viewpoints, as soon as I figure how to insert a little smiley face, and how to set up my profile!

Thanks everyone for your votes. In this serious day and age, at times a person needs something a little light, fluffy and fun! :)

P.S. Okay, Gunhand, I'm checking your profile right now...do you have a photo? I'ts awesome that a guy is voting, it shows that not every poll is of the sexual nature. It can be, but it doesn't have to be! ;)

Pictures...

Alas no, in my big move out to the wild, wild west (Cochise Co. AZ) my boxes of personal effects with the stuff that weren't essential didn't get here yet. Pictures of me just aren't essential. So clothes, guns, saddle and dog are essential, pictures, not so much.

But I've been meaning to send some pictures back east to my family once I get things all squared away (it is beau-ti-ful out here and they'll all be all jealous) so when that happens I'll get some to post. They should come film Serenity here, great range of terrain for it...plus I could go and sneak onto the set. That'd be shiny.

Oh and as far as being Jayne-esque, I'm not, I'm Mal-Wash-esque. Just happen to look like Jayne. Subtle and cunning difference there.

When I read the title of this thread, I just started giggling, cause I thought, "It sounds like a strip show!"
I was close......

Anyway, I don't even have to stop and think about this one: Malcolm Reynolds. Yes sirree. I think I said this before, but around Mal I would probably turn into first season Willow -- you know, make a lot of vowel sounds then have to go away. Or else I would make a complete idiot out of myself trying to impress him by being a smartass.
The fact that I get Mal in every quiz I take makes this deepest narcissim, doesn't it? Heh.

However,I do have a thing for Adam Baldwin, and Jayne sure looks like fun -- but you never know where he's been. Plus he would probably open his mouth and irriate the crap out of me at some point.

And just an FYI to the Saffron Brigade? One of my female friends heartily agrees with you. Enjoy!

To paraphrase Wash a bit:

"Saffron? Definately the legs, and where the legs meet her back...and then everything above that...Have you ever been with a crazy woman? *arched eyebrow look*

Seriously though, she's very attractive in a classical, almost Rueben-esque way. Very 17th century Dutch. Which makes sense since the Triumph Colonists remind me of the Amish for some reason.

Although the PA Dutch aren't really Dutch it all sorta...connects in a bizzare way in my twisted little brainpan.

About Saffron...when I started this poll, I kinda assumed people would vote for the REGULAR cast members, and not GUEST stars. There's so much more to all the other ladies to talk about, instead of Saffron's physical appearance. We're not even talking about her role, just her body. Tsk...men! ;)

Yeah Wash was, but see if I talked about Zoe like that she'd lay me out, and not in a good way. Besides Wash is a large, semi-muscular man.

Hmm, okay Saffron's role. Saffron is someone I see coming back again if the series continues. She's smart, she's sexy, and she does crime! I think she's one of the most interesting of the guest characters, Badger would be a close second or maybe even edge her out if we could have gotten to see one little added scene of him (would have loved to have seen a 15 second or so scene of him leaving the ship and saying what he really thought about River, that could have shown many interesting things I think) but that's neither here nor there.

And if we were just being tsk-men-y type men someone would have brought up the Councilor...*whistles innocently*

Ahem, so anyhow, Saffron does have a complex character and it's not just her obvious physical charms that draws us to her...

...although out of any women in the cast she'd be my pick to be on a trampoline with.

You are FUNNY! I take away my tsk, with sincere apologies! You think Wash is muscular? It almost looks as though I could beat him at arm wrestling! Maybe if he took off that loose hawaiian shirt, but that would be out of character. He's not the fighting type, although he's darn funny.

How about you take on Zoe; have your gun and bullet-proof vest ready, and I'll take on Wash, since I have an equally loud shirt!

Well the key is Wash thinks he's semi-muscular, at least in War Stories, although I think the torture sorta knocked that notion right out of his head.

Joss did a crackerjack job of writing some good characters there, and the casting was great as well.

Out of all of them though the two I'd be leery of having to fight mano to mano would be Zoe (she fights dirtier than me even) and Book (when people say he's a monk I say yeah right, a Kane walking the land kinda monk, kung fu friar he is) they kinda creepify me some. In a gunfight just Mal, becuase he'd shoot me before I was done with my witty banter. I'd know it was coming, but I'm a sucker for the banter. Although I never timed his speed draw, may have to do that next time I watch Serenity.

Now so this isn't a complete threadjack, what about the male guest stars. Ladies? Surprised none of y'all has mentioned Badger. Most women I know really go for the English accent types (I've been known to use it from time to time as well..umm) plus he has a very fine hat.

ew, badger? He's a bit too scruffy for my taste (plus he played that crazy firestarter guy in Season 1 of X files so he creeps me out)

This thread is so goofy, I must post!

Mal gets my vote, probably because I was raised on Star Wars and who doesn't love a scoundrel? Though I look nothing like Inara so my chances would be zip to zilch.

Zoe is definately the hottest of the ladies, I adore Gina Torres. What a face! What a presence!

Kaylee is *adorable* though, which to me is a bit different. Wash leans to the *adorable* too.

I cannot deny that Inara is beautiful...but I still give Zoe the #1 hottness rating.

I enjoyed Simon's washboard abs in OiS, but you know you could never come between him and his little sister.
