Had to scratch my head for a minute when I saw the names misspelled and then realized what was going on. I have The Essential, The Authoritive, and Lazy Sunday Book. Seeing as these are some of my favorite things I guess it should be no surprise they melt together.

Calvin is all grown up now, with a kiddo of his own, but he still needs Hobbes to help out...

This idea of Calvin all grown up kind of gave me a bittersweet feeling, because if Calvin is 25 years older, then that means that *I* am 25 years older, too! :(

Nice to see stealing and copyright infringement isn't dead! Nothing like ripping of Bill Waterson's work. Good one putz!

not to fret!

This is so adorable! I was confused when I first read the title, but then a huge grin crossed my face.

And last I checked, parodies are fine. ;)

Before you jump to concluding copyright infringement, realize that most artists find inspiration from other works of art. 99.9% works of art are a combination, something that existed before. In a super-extreme-rare case, there's something new under the sun at the very elemental level.

Originality resides not just in creating every singles new element that make up you work, but also in combining disparate elements. Even mother nature uses few fundamental colors to create a whole gamut of colorful things.

This artist has not just created this one shirt or a few shirts of Malvin and Cobbes, but also a whole bunch of beautiful artwork.

So take a chill pill. Let 'em shine!

Sadly, Bill Waterson does get a lot of copyright infringement, having been one of the best cartoonists of our time.

Though, I'm not sure, does this technically fall under parody?

EDIT: Oh, never mind, someone already asked that.

No need of a chill pill buddy. As someone who has copyrights, Malvin and Cobbes that is ripping of Waterson's work. Bet if you had created Calvin and Hobbes and someone was stealing your creation you'd be calling your attorney. Just emailed Waterson's publisher to see what they think. M-kay?

Welp. Let's hope the entire fireflyfans site doesn't now get cease and desisted by a converging cluster bomb of Fox and Andrew McMeel's publishing. You never know what lawyers will go after.
