Yep.

He was Oscar nominated for it (along with the other writers) and the Pixar guys credit Joss with teaching them how to write screenplays.

I did know. I always thought the line, "You are a sad, strange little man. And you have my pity." sounded very Joss. Maybe it wasn't, but it strikes me so.
