Just went to a browncoat wedding where the groom wore a tux with read tennis shoes. Looked cool to me.

Yeah, I think the whole shoes thing might be reading too much into it. Woman may well look at shoes and start making all the assumptions based on how they think about shoes, but to me at least... they're just shoes. If I like em, they fit and are comfortable, that's about as much thought as goes into it.
I'll wear them for just about anything.
Unless I need a certain type of shoe for a certain task (football boots, hiking, running shoes) I don't really see why you should have a whole bunch of different pairs.

Ah, but lately I've come to understand that cowboy boots can look quite nice with dressy clothes. I don't mind someone wearing Tevas or Birkenstocks, either.

When I look at a man's clothes, I'm looking for practical, comfortable, nice, but not pretentious. And he must never, ever dress like someone from "Jersey Shore". EVER.

All this talk about shoes... doesn't anyone look at faces? lol

I came to this site from a fanfiction site, feeding my firefly addiction. Firefly is the only fandom I've become interested enough in to read fanfiction, and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I haven't met any browncoats through the internet in person, but that would be pretty shiny. Any browncoats live near south GA?

EDIT: And I guess I should preface that with meet in the friendly sense, lol, after reading the thread I seem to have forgotten it was titled 'matchmaking.'

Navy honey I love you...but when you are a grown up and have a big job interview, you are damn well wearing a nice suit and a pair of dress shoes or I will fly over there!!!

Zeek- yes it's a bit superficial, but appropriate foot wear ( like not taking a hike in dress shoes) does say something about someone
And yes I think a guy " suited up" is likely to be very Barney...fun to hang with, but not dating material

Select to view spoiler:

Oh BTW....what do you think of this new chick Barney likes? I think she's going to become Barney's girlfriend.

pffft, I'mma just stay young forever then. I figure it's prolly more a state of mind anyway.

My parents made it very clear that my actions affect others from an earlier age (I had a younger sister after all) but I didn't really think about that for altruistic reasons 'till about 19. In other words, I stopped 'doing right' in hopes of being noticed/liked/rewarded and started 'doing right' because I thought it helped someone else.

Not that I don't have my own private moments of selfishness and weakness, but I'm a work in progress

What I decide to eat is often the result of whatever tastes good, is available, is easiest and sometimes maybe just a craving.

Deciding what to eat is always pretty tough.

First, whatever's there, narrowed by what will go bad first and what I'm feeling like. When eating out, usually cheapness, unless the girlfriend is with me. I don't get as many choices when she's around, lol.

After finishing college I have begun to put a little more thought into nutrition though, but still it's predominantly cheapness and/or availability.

I always make some fruit and veggies at dinner. I also get like 98% of my food from the grocery store. I think that's a big help on the healthy side of things. I only eat frozen dinner type meals at lunch. For dinner I usually makes something. Sometimes it's something that will leave leftovers that I can have for lunch later in the week.

The worst I do on the health side of my diet is I drink pop almost all the time at dinner. I've added in juice once in a while but that's probably just as sugary. Also I don't make sides. I basically just eat snack foods as sides. Mmmmm potato chips. (hey at least I get the baked kind)

I'm up to "desperation day". I'm not liking any of the relationships they're pushing. Zoe doesn't match Ted in the slightest bit. Plus I don't like the way they just spontaneously ended her marriage with like maybe 1 sign that it had some problems. I don't want to see someone's marriage fail just so they can be another notch on Ted's bedpost. We know she's not the mother so their relationship is doomed. It's stupid. Plus this girl Barney became obsessed with is annoying and not at all the type of girl I'd match Barney with. Besides she's like a 6 at best. Why would Barney even look at her twice? I'm almost thinking the show needs to just be canceled at this point.

As much as I love the guy there is a bit of a personal boycott I have with Trace Adkins and most of the country music scene any more. I love country music, just tired of the industry preying on peoples emotions. Saw the video a few months ago and it was kinda fun, just the song is pretty sucky.

I am now the proud owner of another truck. Poor old truck needs some time on the rack and new truck does not.

Well, I suppose any 'hook ups' would have to be homosexual in nature, so's I wouldn't cheating on my girlfriend. In the case of females, the homosexual rule still slighlty applies, as the g/f would have to be involved

RWED can have a corrupting influence, I'm thinking RWED'ers should post other places every so often to remember this whole firefly thing we're into.

In all seriousness, it would be kind cool to know more firefly fans in person. If'n I can save up and plan earlier enough, I should like to attend a dragon con.

So, I'm finally caught up on HIMYM. I didn't see anything get much better. I really don't like Zoe or Nora's characters. They both need to go and quick.

So, here's my idea for how they can keep things interesting for the next season. They should end this season with the wedding where Ted meets his wife. However, have him meet two or even three women with some potential at the wedding. Then all next season they can play the guessing game of which one will actually become his wife. They just better do a darn good job of making them likable. I don't want any of them to have a bf/fiance/husband when they meet Ted. I'm really tired of that junk. Just make them fun, adventurous people who share some interests with Ted. Then let him struggle over which to choose.

Also didn't he buy a rundown house? What the heck is going on with that?

Well, that's a bad day for sure. Hope it didn't get any worse.

It probably seems silly to you, but since I haven't been around, I am shocked that your little one is running around, etc. I still think of him as a baby. :D

Horses are still good. I'm pretending to try to sell the one, but things have consorted against me in getting him marketed. We should be coming to the end of that quickly. The other is being a good boy. We have good days and bad, but mostly they are good and the bad ones are minor so it all adds up nicely.

BTW: Your shoe comments a ways back were right on. While I don't judge based on shoes, I will look to see if someone can put the right shoes with the right clothes, especially when it counts (big events like weddings, funerals, etc.) The guy wearing the Converse with his suit on a date can be adorable, but it's not so cute when it's a formal wedding. You don't have to act like a grown-up all the time, but you need to show that you can when it counts. :D
