SCI FI announced it will be bringing back Farscape with an all-new miniseries — called Farscape: Peacekeeper War — slated to air in the fourth quarter of this year. The four-hour miniseries picks up where the cliffhanger series finale left off and will reunite John Crichton (Ben Browder), Aeryn Sun (Claudia Black) and the rest of the Moya crew.

Farscape creator Rockne O'Bannon and executive producer David Kemper wrote the miniseries, which was directed by Brian Henson. Peacekeeper War was produced by the Jim Henson Company and Hallmark Entertainment, and executive produced by Robert Halmi Jr.

SCI FI will make the official announcement at noon on Monday, April 5, during the channel's advertising sales "upfront" presentation.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Good news for the Farscape fans, of which I am not amongst their number. The show just never really appealed to me.

SHI-NEE! There were Scapers walking around the party floor at MarsCon last month talking about this - and I knew it was going to happen, just not for sure on Sci-fi. Next to Babylon 5, FarScape was the show that raised the bar for science-fiction television.

The information came right off of scifi.com's news service, SciFiWire. The rumors have been flying for months, but this is the first, official, point-at-it-and-shriek announcement of the miniseries. It's coming the end of the year...HOOHAH!!! Also, it's ABOUT. FREAKING. TIME.

First the 'Serenity' movie announcement, now the official 'Farscape' mini announcement. Helluva couple of weeks, eh?

Here's the news snippet, if you ain't already read it:

Yeah, I know...it's a repeat of what was posted above...but it's worth saying twice!

Is possessed by the dance of the happy shiny joy!!!

Yes!!!! Thank you Goddess Thank you Goddess Thank you Goddess!!!!

When I saw that they were replacing my Farscape with that Andromeda crap I was ready right then and there to never watch SciFi again. They have redeemed themselves!!!

Here’s to hoping they don’t pull a F*X and crush our hope under their mighty heels once they have suckered us back into the fold.

I wonder if it'll air in Canada in my lifetime.

Hey, I'm hoping that BBC2 picks up Farscape over here - do I recall right that for unfathomable reasons we got the final episodes in the UK first?

Heck - for all who say TV SF is on the down spiral, we should take a step back - Firefly taking flight on the big screen, Farscape back for a mini-series, B5 shortly to return in some form (announcement in early May I think), Battlestar Galactica (with added Richard Hatch apparently).

About bloomin time!!!!!! YeeeHaaa! oh and yes BBC2 did get to show them first over here in the UK. However having just looked at the BBC site they say SciFi in the US will get to show it first and there is no news as to when or if the BBC will air it. Sci Fi have got it right for a change. With all the recent cancellations this is bright spot!
