I remember seeing the commercials for Firefly back in high school but never watched it. Well as I scrolled through Netflix looking for something sci-fi I found "Serenity" (lol), and decided to give it a shot. I figured it was a straight to DVD movie to wrap up a canceled show. Wow how did I miss this?! The movie was awesome and thanks to Netflix, I'm 3 episodes away from the end of the season in 2 days! The show and fandom is bigger than I imagined. Now that I know the characters I see how huge Firefly is in the prop building community. I'm kinda bummed that there is an end and no more firefly. There is some many elements that make this an amazing show. Which I'm not telling you guys/gals anything new lol. I'm sorry for taking up space on the forum with my rambling but I just had to vent my excitement!!!

The eagerness of new recruits revitalizes the spirits of the old trenchmen. Sorry making for enthusiasm is unnecessary.

Your type of posts happen fairly often actually. It's not at all frowned upon. It's always sorta invigorating to hear how into the series people are when they first find it. For me at least I sorta think back to when I was first watching the series.

The unfortunate part is that you're going to get to the end a lot quicker than you'd like. Then you'll go through the stages of grief we all went through. I suggest you try to keep from the feeling that "If we just write enough letters or raise enough money then we can get this back". Those posts get old. We've been there and done that. Most people who have that kind of enthusiasm really aren't prepared to make the commitment to get something done anyway. They really just want a bunch of other people to rise up and do a lot of work. The best thing to do at this point is support the licensed merchandise if you like it. Buy dvds, comics, shirts, whatever. $$$ talks. Unfortunately I think our $$$ whispers.

I'm a convert. Spanish missionaries braved the wilderness to bring Firefly. They came with blankets, bibles and the Verse.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Bun-magic reveals that you are #42274 to sign on as crew of this shiny ship.
Good thing we've taken on some hyper-bunks or it'd be standing room only.
Enjoy one of our big strawberries and a mug of Mudder's while I try to find the gal with the key to the locker wherein we keep the virtual browncoats.
Then it's up to the galley to question the buffet. Shimmerwine in the fountain at the aft end of the table. Ice-planets are in the cooler, bottom shelf, and you're in luck -- the latest re-supply has brought many exotic flavors for your delectation.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.
