I don't post much in this board but I have had a interesting experence today. I my self watch Firefly with my wife and my six year old daughter has seen bits and pieces of the show. I have been using Shiny in my speach for quite some time now.

Today I had a parent teacher converence with my daughters teacher. After the meeting I was aked if I know what Shiny means. I told her and then asked why she would like to know. She said that my daughter had been using the word frequently and now many of the kids in her class are starting to use it on a regular basis. We both had a good laugh aobut it.

I just had a this shiny moment and had to share it. I also kept picturing the other kids going home and confusing thier parents..

Oh, how sweet!!! Can't imagine a better way to find other Browncoats... The kids whose parents aren't confused are probably folks you want to get to know...

This whole thing just gives me the warm fuzzies...

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

You know I was thinking about this last night as I watched Jaynestown for like the 10th time. My stepdaughter was watching w/ me, and I began to notice that she knew the words to the Hero of Canton.

This morning I reminded her of a skating party as we got her ready for school and she smiled and said "Shiny!" Made me want to tear up.

Aww! That's great! A couple of my converted friends use shiny every now and again (mostly when it's just us tho...), but grr... arg... has become a staple for my friends and I. How cool would it be if someone associated with FF is, I don't know, picking their kid up from preschool or something and overhears the kids saying how shiny something or other is/was that day. :)

Talk about the warm fuzzies... That's awesome.

If we all keep this up, exposing our young'ns to Firefly... We'll have generations of Browncoats to come.
