Are you the only Browncoat where you are?

I'm sure I'm not the only Browncoat in the Hunter area. Actually I think there's a few who post here. I know plenty of people that like Firefly/Serenity but they seem to be less "hardcore" than I am...plus to be honest I'm also building up a repertoire of reasons to justify moving to Melbourne. Newcastle is okay but Melbourne always feels like home when I go there.

With the way the state governments and the federal government are going right now, I am seriously considering moving to New Zealand. The only thing holding me back is the fact that there is NOTHING THERE!

to be honest I've actually contemplated moving to Tassie when my degree is done. they seem to be managing shared Govt pretty well.

oooH you'd better be careful. I know lots of Tasmanians and a high proportion of them are Browncoats :-0. I'm an ex Canberran (Shivers uncontrollably at the horror of the memory). I have some good friends there but generally it's a soul-less place.

Hmm, it looks like a lot of Canberrans seem to end up atheist, so you might not be far off on the "souless" idea. And I would've thought that all the hot air would've warmed up the place.

ha ha you'd think the hot air would have that effect. but it's only hot in summer. everyone thinks its a pretty place etc etc but it has it's problems with poverty, violence and crime...not as bad as Raymond Terrace mind you, but Canberra is not as pretty as people think...and the public transport situation gives me a headache within an hour of me getting there. Where else on the planet does the country's capital city not have busses to most places after 6pm on weekends? and they wonder why they don't get a better share of the tourism market!!!luckily I still have my cabbie contacts so when i visit i get some free rides to places. One thing I'll say for Canberra, it's got the best taxi service in the world and some of the best eats as well. I always go on a food fest when i get there. Finding non western friendly food in Newcastle and Port stephens is extremely difficult. where are you based?

Port Stephens is a great place, although Raymond Terrace, ugh why would live there?

I'm a Blue Mountainsian. We're called country folk by the city folk, and city folk by the country folk. I guess that makes us city-counts.
