Just finished watching Wonderfalls, and at the end it said that the show is moving to Thursday! WTF? Is this move to try to help it or finish it off?

Discuss!

America loves a winner!

Totally missed the schedule change. I was too focused on Jaye being told she must 'destroy' her H.S. nemesis at the class reunion. haa haa.

Thurs is a better time though, right? Look at Fri nites on Fox - Firefly, John Doe, Fastlane..... best to move it out of that black hole of death that is the time spot.

Survivor, Friends, CSI. I would say this is the axe on Wonderfalls. It has no way of competing against those shows. I'll give it about another month until it is canceled. I already read somewhere that it is in danger of being canceled very soon.

Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.

The thursday-rerun of the pilot scored higher than the original airing. That might have prompted Fox's decision.

As long as they promote the move, I think this can only be a good thing. It shows that Fox is willing to give WF a chance---that's a worry that has kept many from watching it.

Oh, and something else. The WF website says that the April 1st airing will be a "special time". That implies the move might not be permanent if it doesn't do well.

When any show is moved to another time slot, it signals the beginning of the end of it. This is never a good sign.

I don't think the people that watch Survivor or Friends are the target audience for Wonderfalls anyway. Not sure about CSI, as I have only seen a single episode.

The move to Thursday won't change things for me with regards to Wonderfalls, it will encourage me to watch Tru Calling.

Um, I'm lost. Uh, I'm Angry. And I'm Armed.

Actually, I'm betting that it will preempt Tru Calling. It's not listed anywhere, not even on Fox's schedule (well, ok, it's still listed as airing next Friday) but the only options for preemption are Tru Calling and Forever Eden.

Tim Minear said on the Buffistas board that the Thursday move may not be permanent, but could be depending on how things go. Todd Holland corroborated that as well. It looks like Fox is at least willing to experiment with how they are handling the show instead of cancelling it swiftly (like they did with Harsh Realm and numerous other shows). I consider that positive with the absolutely horrid ratings that Wonderfalls has posted so far.

Wow. Why the heck are the ratings so low? Is the public just blissfully unaware of this show, or what?

Lack of awareness + bad timeslot to get the target audience.

If Fox gives it time, it might start catching on. I've been following the news [via news.google.com]... Actually, let me go back a bit. I did a search right after seeing the pilot to read reviews. I saw ONE, repeat ONE mediocre review out of 5+ pages of results. EVERY other one was glowing. Not a single bad one in the bunch.

Back to topic, there are a few critics out there who have repeatedly tried to promote the show. Next week's TV guide even has a special bubble for it [too bad it's pointing to the WRONG NIGHT NOW... Fox shoulda waited until after Apprentice was over for the Thursday night test...].

I think that Friday night is clearly the wrong night for Wonderfalls. The kind of audience (intelligent 18+) that would like Wonderfalls is no doubt out doing other things on a Friday night.

The main character in Wonderfalls spends her Friday nights at a bar, drinking with her friends. It is very likely that the target audience for Wonderfalls does the same thing.

Also, I’ve heard that Tru Calling’s ratings have improved. Moving Wonderfalls to a Thursday night to go back to back with Tru Calling is a smart move. Both Tru Calling and Wonderfalls would have a similar, if not the same target audience.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

TV Guide Online still has "Forever Eden" listed for next Thursday night after "Tru Calling." If they preempt "Eden" for "Wonderfalls" that means it will be up against "CSI" and "The Apprentice." I have never watched either of those shows but I do know they have extremely high ratings, so this does not look like a positive move to me. But even if they leave it on Friday, next week it would be up against "JAG," which I have heard has its best ratings ever lately. In my opinion, even though they are promoting this show more as a drama than a comedy, it would best fit into FOX's Sunday night line-up.

In all honesty I don't watch it for two reason. First and foremost I didn't like it and second I don't really want to give it a chance because it is on Fox and likely to get axed.

I know that it seems to be a self fulfilling prophesy but I feel its better to ignore it than let it grab me and get burned.

The promo at the end of last nights episode clearly said "On it's new night; Thursday!" Doesnt sound like a special deal to me...

But pairing it up with Tru Calling seems like a good idea.

I can, unfortunately, understand that. The show's hilarious, though----a lot funnier than most "comedies".

Todd Holland said on zap2it that the april 1st airing was a special. The pilot re-airing on thursday performed better than the premier, so they are going to try and build on the Tru Calling lead in. If it performs well, who knows what the brainless ones at Fox will do.

And oh yeah, last night's was another great ep. They are 3 for 3, batting a thousand in my book. Love this show. Can't wait for the april fools 'sode.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Yes, this.

The higher ratings for a repeat was unprecedented. Never happens.

So, this is an experiment in scheduling to see if they can get better numbers. It's a tough slot, for sure, but Tim Minear, who's got more on the line than any of us, says it's a better slot for the show than Friday at nine.

So, time to plug the new slot. I'm just happy not to have to start plotting a DVD campaign just yet.

I like it better on Thursdays since my wife and I enjoy Tru Calling also. I can Tivo both of the shows.

actaully this might not be that bad. normally Thursday night would be a hard timeslot to compete in but with Basketball on now things are a little different. because they are afraid of competing with NCAA, most networks are troting out different programing then normal and showing repeats. so if you have already see the re-peats, Fox is hoping that you will watch this funny, quirky, CHEAP alternative.

Tru already does something innovative.. they have a recap of the first half hour, no doubt to clue in everyone who was watching "Friends" and switched channels to catch the second thirty minutes of Tru.
