Morena would be gorgeous even if her hair were purple. Or green. Or if she were bald.

It's who she is.

Doesn't stop it being bad! People with that skin colour should not have hair colour that is the same as or lighter than their skin tone. I could almost take blonde, but not that shade...

Hopefully she did this for a role and is planning to change it back very shortly!

I love Morena, and think she is fabulous, but that hairstyle just does not cut it for her

Hey, if men could change the size of ... you know what...as easily as women change their hair style / color, there'd be no reason to be sensitive.

Morena's pic reminds me of those older ladies w/ the swim caps on at the pool.

bleh.

And it's not even blonde, but 'white'. Makes her look older. Doesn't do justice to her beautiful skin and dark eyes.

More Information than you can possibly want about the dangerous Chemicals Morena used on her head.
www.wikihow.com/Bleach-Your-Hair-Platinum-Blonde
1 Pour 3 ounces of crème developer into plastic mixing bowl along with 2 scoops of bleaching powder in a room with windows. This stuff is not healthy to breathe in a closed up room!
2 Put on your Goggles! Never forget the goggles, unless you have eyeglasses, then add tape around them to protect your eyes.
3 Commence mixing the bleach and developer mixture.
4 Part your hair in 4 sections. Start at the back and DO NOT start at your roots or else you will come out with lighter roots and darker ends.
5 Add bleach all over your head, keeping 1 1/2 inches away from your roots initially. After you have finished the rest of your hair, apply the bleach mix to your roots, being careful not to massage it into your scalp too much.
6 Put the clear or white plastic bag over your head then tie it at the nape of your neck making sure all of your hair is tucked underneath the bag. a grocery bag is fine, but make sure the side with printing on it is NOT against your head, or you will wind up with the color of the print processed into your hair a bit. whoops!
7 Leave it like this for up to 60 minutes. Set a timer for 60 minutes (1 hour) so you will be sure.
8 Wash out with a PH neutralizing shampoo this will stop any further acidic or basic chemical reactions from occurring on your head. This will formally end the bleaching process. You MUST wash this out completely.
9 If your hair is not as light as you want at this point, then towel-dry it. then use a really great protein treatment to strengthen your hair like Aphogee (look it up. this takes a few hours to harden and about half an hour to wash out, so you must allow time to do it properly if you choose it.)
10 Once you have used a protein treatment after that it's all set, completely rinsed out, and towel dried, then you must use a deep conditioning treatment so that your hair is conditioned as well.
11 Wait one week or more and then repeat the bleaching tips up to this point do that until your hair is a light yellowish color with little to no orange it in. This shouldn't take more than one or two more processings, even for the darkest hair. In fact, if you suspect it will, It is highly recommended that you go to a professional hairdresser. Always wait at least a week between hair treatments!
12 Once you have reached the light yellowish color shampoo with the pH balancing shampoo, it is time to tone your hair to a respectable platinum shade with a toner that will counterbalance any brassy tones (i.e. make it not yellow.) Make sure not to protein treat or condition your hair!
13 Put goggles on...After 24hrs. or more, mix toner in plastic container with 30 volume crème developer (read directions on toner). Depending on how golden or platinum you want to be, add drops of Ardell's "Lock in Blonde". The more you add, the more golden blonde your hair will be. If you pass this, that's fine. Your hair will not be as crispy blonde. It's suggested to add about 18 drops to give your hair a bit of color/golden platinum enhancement.
14 After 40 minutes,(read directions on toner) wash, condition and dry.
15 To repeat- Do not bleach or dye your hair for more than an hour at at a time and always leave a week or two in between for processing time for your hair and scalp to heal. Otherwise, your hair will be damaged, dull, frizzy. Hair will become brittle and tend to break and there's a possibility your head will be covered in scabs. Always condition in between! Be patient.

Gotta wonder what role she would have done this for, if you ask me....cuz I had just started coming around to the bob cut working for her (after months of being all "NO! The long, luxurious tresses were perfect!" and now she goes and dyes it almost Billy Idol white?!

:(

I have to echo previous posters here, even though I have almost no clue about complexions and tones and such, and say her natural dark hair suits her most excellently because of her Mediterranean complexion (Italian ancestry, Brasilian birth culture).

Morena is a great person and she's really beautiful - but as far as hair is going, it's going from bad to worse...If the first fiasko happened as a result of her getting a role, why didn't she let it grow back? I think she likes it that way and in the end that's what counts I guess!

Halle Berry's look as Storm worked because her hair, even as it got shorter, still was longer than Morena's. It shouldn't be so short, imo, but that it's this short AND white.....

Well, white isn't good on anyone, and it sure is white, not blonde. I have been a bottle blonde for 40+ years, any other shade of blonde maybe,..but this is not a good shade for her. Could it have something to do with the role in "V"? I don't remember the story,....at least it will grow out in a couple of months and maybe she will go back to black. I will contend until the end of my days that all the cutest puppies, kittens and unicorns cried the day Morena cut off all of that beautiful long hair.

But seriously, who is her stylist? The short hair cut doesn't frame her features as well as a longer cut.

However, it's not up to any of us, no matter what we think. She should wear her hair however she likes - whatever makes her happy.

If she likes it, or did it for a job, that's OK, but I too sure loved the long dark hair-- it went so well with her eyes. And I do have to admit that the short dark look turned me into a closet neck fetishist/vampire. While the blonde thing and the big laugh suggests a much more fun, even frivolous, character, I liked the serious brunette look better.

And for those wondering why she dyed it blonde, there was an interview awhile back, and she said she always felt like bleaching her hair for fun. I guess she just decided to do it.

It is a cry for help. "Stop me before I bleach my hair again!"
Morena's excuse is that she's playing an amphibious alien queen-mother whose thousands of children were murdered on the last episode of "V". She bleached in mourning for her dead tadpoles. Or something like that.

If cutting her hair short and blonde will make Morena more recognizable and famous, I am all for it. If it doesn't... Well, she will always have the pictures to remember 2010 and how odd that year was. Should Morena ever play Inara again, all she needs is the costume department to purchase a couple of custom-made, human hair wigs. Short hair or long, blond or black, changing Morena into Inara is a small problem that can be solved in a few weeks with enough money. The big problem is getting financing for the next Firefly movie.

I think Morena ought to use her super Companion skills to entice a Multi-Billionare lover of blonds and sci-fi cinema to finance three more Firefly movies. It's not really prostitution if she does it for a noble purpose.

I think she looks hot. Whether it's for a role or she's just experimenting with her look ultimately it's her hair, and I'm pretty sure she doesn't care what any of us think. Yes Chemicals used for Bleaching are bad, but I've peroxided my hair once or twice just to spice things up a bit, and it has grown back to its thick golden brown unruliness without any bother. What about James Marsters? he bleached his hair for years as Spike and now he has a lovely curly brown mop.
It's just hair...it'd be a different story if she'd had a stupid cosmetic procedure like lip implants etc etc.

Your signature does apply to me. I can imagine the story in the Hollywood Reporter:
Nathan Fillion is Out! - Newly Blond Morena Baccarin to Costar with Billionaire Boyfriend David Ellison in Serenity 2!

Here is the real story:
Larry Ellison's Son Keeps Trying to Buy His Way Into Movie-Making
This is David Ellison. He'd like to be in the movie business. Unfortunately, he's not very good at picking projects. But his dad is the sixth-richest person in the world. So now David Ellison is co-funding movies with Paramount Pictures.
You probably remember David Ellison from Flyboys, the 2005 WWII drama that he both financed and starred in. Oh, you don't? You must not be one of the six people that saw it, then. Here he is enthusiastically describing German fighter planes:
