CAme up to the big city (i.e. Sydney...I live near Newcastle a less big city)to go to a wedding tomorrow. went to the Kinokuniya bookstore in the center of Sydney where I usually get my Firefly books. Asked for Firefly Still Flying. Had worked myself into an excited frenzy all week at the prospect of getting it. the cashier said they had them in stock, made a phone call to someone on the floor then informed me they'd sold out...I was like "nah you haven't" she was like "yeah we have we spent a while yesterday searching for one for a customer. My friends wanted to leave and for me to go too, but my Firefly radar was buzzing strongly I told them There was a copy somewhere in the store and I was not going to leave without it. So I went to the entertainment and arts tie in section closed my eyes opened them and voila one last copy of FSF....my friends were waiting for me outside one couldn't stop laughing and the other was not at all surprised.

It was those ingrained Browncoats instincts working for you, that only Browncoats have. Deep down your heart and mind knew it was there and you weren't going to leave until every other book in the store had been gone through. Thankfully for you it didn't require such measures.
And if your friends didn't understand they ain't friends worth having.

Nicely played.

my friends are ok. they do understand me all too well thats why they were altrenatively laughing and going "uh huh, thats about right. What's cooler is on the train back to our lodgings we were reading the part where Jewel talks about all of them following Nathan unconditionally including to the sandwiches table even though they weren't hungry...more laughs and reminiscing coz when we started university 4 years ago, for some bizarre reason my friends would follow me alot. Eventually (after about a year) they stopped doing it when they realised I'd often not go where we were supposed to be going (Usually I'd be going in the opposite direction for more snacks). e.g. "uh Rose the lecture is in the other direction why are we going this way?" "uh 1) who asked you to follow me and 2) ...I'm not quite ready to go to psyc...I'm gonna need more munchies" then I'd keep walking and they'd still be following me, even though we'd just established I was going the wrong way. Even now Sometimes when we are having lunch etc I'll get up and leave before them and they instinctively pack up and move in the same direction until I remind them we don't have any classes together anymore...weird but endearing phenomenen. we are all at a wedding tomorrow...be interested to see what happens.
