Ditto. I can do anything I put my mind to, it seems, but I get bored with it pretty easily. The things I love to do as hobbies, I find myself HATING to do when I'm doing them for a living, and HAVE TO do them to pay the bills. That's why now I refuse to do my hobbies for money, and I refuse to do my job for free. :)

What has eluded me? Methinks many things:

1) Lotto jackpot
2) Obsession with cell phones
3) Vampire mania
4) Apparent societal acceptance of morning drive radio ads for bigger male parts, or female parts cosmetic surgery
5) Discovering a new comet
6) Reality shows mania
7) SUV mania
8) A great moustache
9) Meaningless sex
10)Eating healthy

I've been pretty lucky in finding work that pays well. It allowed me to stay in the best part of CT. however, I do know what you are talking about. I wouldn't worry to much about it. I'm sure if you took a poll most people would rather be doing something different. I think it's our nature. Do something long enough and it becomes a chore even if it's what you always wanted. Kind of sucks, but look how many people change careers.....My point is I don't think there is something eluding you.

Wealth is eluding me. I should be rich and retired by now. If I hit the big 30 and I still have to work for a living that just seems wrong.

What's eluding me? I was just reading Yahoo's list of top rated sci-fi films and they had Serenity ranked #30! But then again they had Iron Man as #1? So I guess what's eluding me is what system did they use to rank this, and who should I kidnap to fix this aggregious error?

To answer your real question- sleep is eluding me, going to try anyhow, good night!

I was naturally musical as a little kid, then was forced to do formal piano lessons, now musical talent eludes me and it pisses me off. I used to play by ear. I'm not sure if i've grown up yet, but am gonna be a speech Pathologist by the end of the year...took me twenty years to get here, but i got here. The only othr thing that eludes me is what other people define as "true Love" but I'm only 40 so I can wait...or I'll stick to my plan of being the Cat Lady.
But I'll limit myself to 3 cats...and maybe one dog...a big slobbery goofy one that loves the cats.

Since beginning to take martial arts classes in 1974, I have become a competent killer through the years, yet my need to deliver a beating to a jerk has decreased exponentially.
My hate has eluded me.

But also, my graphic novel as well. I *WANT* to finish it, alas, my feeling of fear of conclusion is apparent. I have only one good story in me, I fear, and it's coming out slowly... REALLY slowly.

Endurance seems to be eluding me lately. After being off the bike for 15 years, it's proving to be hard to build up to any reasonable distance to ride. Made 6.5 miles this morning, up and down hills, and it very nearly kicked my ass. This comes as a bit of a shock to someone who used to do 30-mile jaunts on some of the hardest trails around, and follow those up with a 25-mile "cooldown" ride through the Hill Country. I'll get there, though. I made a bargain with my wife: I started with a "cheapie" bike to see if I could still do this, and the deal is that if I can make it to the Bee Cave City Hall and back by the end of the year (on the bike, of course!), I get to move up to a much nicer road bike. That's a 36-mile round trip.

The good news is, my back is now good enough to be able to actually RIDE a bike again, so excrutiating back pain and loss of mobility is eluding me, too. I'm glad for that!

Bicycle riding should be left to children. No respectful adult should ever be caught dead peddling a bicycle. And this no-no grows exponentially if wearing bike shorts and matching top.....
