STINKINGROSE

Talking to myself, again I see.. I'd better stop that or people might start to look at me oddly. I'm just telling me for my own good.

I just watched "Where The Wild Things Are". I don't know why I liked it, but I did. (Apart from scenery and set, and the props department had a field day with Max's room!)

Why is it that puppets crying is so much sadder than people crying?
I spent the whole damned thing sniffling.
I am, of course a little fried from chemistry equations and prone to leaky eyes.

Barkeep! A pint of Guinness to go along with the bread I baked today, if you please!

"Certainly, mum,I'll get me that right away!"

Come on Rosie, I'm sure people already give you odd looks, that's no reason to quit talking to yourself.

As for the animals fighting/mating in the yard, I get that all the time too. We have a whole bunch of foxes that live around here and they make some damn weird noises.

Boychild saw 7 deer in the back yard yesterday.
"They went away, but then they came back because one of their babies came back."
Where the heck they were when my friend was up hunting last year I do not know. Maybe this year we'll get some venison and my fruit trees and garden will sleep the sounder for it.

Boychild arrived home from school sick.

I need to sleep. I have to study. I need to sleep. I have to study.
(Sorry, existential waffling here..)

I baked thin cookie bars tonight which contained butter, bananas, honey, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg and oats. Not bad. They're not as sweet as I was expecting, and I forgot to toss in the raisins.

Ohh hugs!

lol - nothing that exciting really, lots of work and OU stuff although I did do some basics of cryptography last year and the maths of it was really interesting.

I do have a gig on the 3rd of July that I'm really excited about and cannot WAIT for download: AC/DC. Megadeth, Rage against the Machine, Stone Temple Pilots, Slash, Motorhead, Aerosmith just to start with and I'm off with one of my best friends in the world that I haven't seen in ages so going to do cool catch up.

I here by present some of my favourite buffet food (we had friend over for lunch which is what reminded of these and then watched the recent adaptation of Pratchett's Going Postal [probably the best adaption of the series so far]), Dolmades, shop bought I'm afraid but beautiful.

Anwyay, more secret service stuff (3rd series of Chuck just started as 1s of Castle is finishig) or more accuartely, maths assignment.

*magics up drinks for everyone*

Adds minbagels with cream cheese and lox and an artful sprig of dill.
Then adds a nice Waldorf salad, fruit covered cream cheese tart, and a Valhrona assortment.

And a pig on a spit, turned to perfection. With a side of bacon.

(Hey, if you're gonna go for a virtual buffet you might as well do it right...)

I wouldn't mind some of that virtual pig on a spit... I'd prefer a real one, but sadly, I'll have to make do with the peter pan buffet just now.

And I've always thought cryptography sounded pretty cool, but I've never had a chance to try it out. The maths might not even bother me so much if I can fool myself into not seeing it as being real maths.

Do the trainers coordinate with the tartan, or are they a whole 'nother plaid just for effect?

Okay peoples, I have one weekend in which to a)catch up to where I really need to be in terms of mastery of this science thing before the next exam
and b)visit with my mother who is in from the other side of the continent. ("Fartknockers" as one MA I used to work with would say.)

Mom will be back some day (I have a grandchild in my possession... clever me!), the classes will not wait patiently until it is convenient for me.

(Puts out a selection of good cheeses and still warm artisan breads, several quiches, opens a nice bottle of Beaujolais to breathe, puts the finishing touches on the clafouti with a side of creme fraiche, and slowly melts into the shadows.)

"See you after the weekend, my dears.."
