I never actually saw the trailers before "Firefly" aired. After having viewed them, and already knowing what I know about "Firefly", it's easy to see how potential viewers would've avoided this show. The trailers make this program look like it has "Dip$hit" written all over it in giant neon blinking letters. If I were Joss, I would've had my lawyers go after the utter morons who made those promos. Now I know for a fact that FOX TV was out to destroy this show. Gorram fools.

They can have my "Firefly" DVDs when they pry them from my cold, dead fingers....

Oh yeah, you, FOX TV!!

I agree 100%. When I watched the trailers all I could think was that they were selling the show to the wrong target audience. They took the lowest common denominator approach.

Bad, bad advertising.

I avoid trailers like the plague. They either make the show/movie look dumb or give too much away. My life's philosophy includes the adage that "All marketing is bulls***". Trailers are a marketing tool and should be viewed as such.

acctually the trailers gave me thoughts of the show outlaw star, an anime, with the 'chick in the box' and the 'cosmic hooker' and all

I agree. The trailers did NOT do the show any justice wahtsoever. The only saving grace the trailers had for me was "From the creator of Buffy The Vampire Slayer". I knew then that if Joss was behind it, it had to be good!

I totally read that with Cathy Bates' voice ala "Waterboy".

I saw a few of the promos before and during the show back in 2002. I honestly can say that they misrepresented the entire show. I also LOVED the one with 'a girl in a box'. It shows to go you that luh suh FOX(spit!) truly deserves all the low ratings it gets.

I call her "Vera"

I agree, the FIREFLY trailers were quite lame and very misleading. Not the least reason, didn't one of the trailers have that crappy-a** "Walking on the Sun" song in the background? If ever there was disposable music from a disposable band... It was only the fact that FOX couldn't totally hide the intriguing concept that I watched from the get-go.

Of course, even FIREFLY's bad trailers can't compete with the horrid promos UPN airs for every episode of ENTERPRISE. Yeah, it is a pretty bad show (though it has gotten worlds better recently), but somehow those promo trailers make each episode seem even worse.

Do the job. Get paid. Keep flying.

True enough about "Enterprise" promos. THe show has improved dramatically of late. And, of course, there's T'Pol in her skin-tight, delicious catsuits with heels...

I'll be in my bunk
