Yes, its a local place, we have a ton of them around here. Italian and Chinese places are all over the place.

I got sea food marinara but with garlic butter sauce not the evil red stuff. It had lobster and shrimp and clams in it.

I also got a macaroon for dessert because I didn't want cake.

Then I had to come home and shower because my mom and dad got fish too and my clothes smelled all fishy and foody and gross...

But it was worth it.

ZEROKIRYU

About a week ago, something... horrible happened to me. I'm getting through it kinda, but my first instinct was to just lay in bed and never leave my house again. But that's not the answer, so I'm taking steps to move past it. One of which is actually talking about it, but those of you that know me know I'm not too big on that, so instead I chose to write this and let you imaginary people read it. I know it's bad and all over the place, but right now this is the best I can do. I know I'm not... whatever here anymore, but right now this feels familiar and safe. So yeah, here it is.

Flashing lights... It's hazy. I try to get up, it hurts. I'm walking away, someone yells to me from the distance "I'll call you later!". "Yeah, later!" I responded.

Someone shouts, footsteps almost as fast as the beating of my heart. I'm late, they're waiting... I'll take the shortcut.

I'm sitting on an ambulance, the paramedic is checking my injuries. How many were there? Three, maybe four... No, definitely four. It's dark, a voice calls out.

He sterilizes a cut. It stings, but that's nothing... Did you get a good look at them? No, not really. The voice isn't familiar, I ignore it. Louder now... and closer. What did it just say?

I can give you the basics, that's it. I don't wanna talk to the cop, I just wanna curl up... I feel dirty. I walk faster. Two of them jump out in front of me.

Could you pick tham out of a lineup? I dunno... Maybe? Didn't you hear me? The voice is right behind me now. I try to run, but one of them punches me. I fall.

Why were they attacking you? Why... I try to get up, but one of them kicks me. The others run towards me and join in. The blows hurt, but something else hurts much worse.

Yeah... why? They wanted money... The words leave my mouth before I know what I'm saying. The blows rain down, but their words cut me like a knife.

So it was a mugging? Yeah... They stop, I see flashing lights. One of them yells, let's get out of here! They run off.

We'll need you to come down and make a formal statement, but there's not much we can do. Yeah... My cousins run to me, "What happened?".

I was mugged... At least, that's what I told the police. But I know the truth, and so do they.

Six letters form a word, a word that makes me wince now, because see... I was the victim of a hate crime.

*HUGS Zero* Sadly, I'm with HK....words are failing me (and I've been trying since the day you posted ). I'm sorry that this happened to you.

I doubt that it's going to make anything better for you, but let me point out to you a couple of things:
1. You are not a "faggot" -- if that's the six-letter word. If you were, you'd be either a bundle of sticks used for starting a fire, or a sort of British meatball...which you're neither.

2. Please do what SR suggested that apply to you. Or if not, maybe talk to a legal-aid counselor to see what can be done legally (court or otherwise). Even if you don't take the options offered, at least you'll know what is available to you.

That being said...I'm with MsA on the offer to deal with these -phobic "small man issue" rejects of the human specie.

I need new headphones, but I need good kind that will stay on while on the treadmill and that won't cost enough to make me give up my first born.

Suggestions people?

I prefer ear buds. I like the ones I have (now torn) they were all rubbery so they were soft and stayed in my head.

@avery:I'm not a big fan of earbuds, but when it comes to headphones I do like sennheiser ones. And I'm certain they'll do the rubbery stick-in-your-head kind. And I can't remember the brand, but there's some I saw in a local store that looked pretty comfy... if I remember I'll message you next time I'm there.

do you want noise cancelling ones, or just the ones that stay in your ears? Noise cancelling ones are ridiculous in the price area.

I have a pair of Sony ones that I love, came with three different size rubbery ear caps (the soft kind I think you're referring to) for different size ear canals. Those ones weren't really expensive at all (however, I can't find the same ones ANYwhere since I bought them, but the sound quality is great).

Skull Candy are cheap, I've never tried em but they are in-the-ear earbuds (I can't wear the iPod kind, too big) http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Skullcandy+-+Ink'd+Stereo+Ear+Bud+Headphon
es+-+Black/Chrome/9251098.p?id=1218072202612&skuId=9251098

found these at best buy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sennheiser+-+Ear+Bud+Headphones+-+Gunmetal
+Gray/Black/9265341.p?id=1218071607710&skuId=9265341
they're $40 but if you want em to last..... most of the customer complaints with the cheaper ones seem to be that they don't last very long.

I'd shop around a bit to see what you can find that's reasonable. Wish I was an expert on the subject but I've been lucky with having to buy very few pairs :\

They are a lil pricey, but I've had them for ages and I luv 'em. They are not only earbuds that have those great rubbery things, but they have the piece that goes over the back of your ear so they are good for going to the gym. Hope that helps.

hey all,

I love my sennheiser headphones, in ear with hook that goes behind the ear, keeps them in place for running and gym like activities.

I hate the gym too, full of people and I can never get on what I want and there's always some moron throwing too much weight around with poor form and momentum and I can just about manage to not try to help them as they never listen but it drives me crazy. Hence power cage and weights in the garage, which gets cold but get to work out on my terms. Not that it's going well, overloaded and knackered, too much weight and restarted running, doing 6 miles for charity in March so need to get miles so taking a break.

Enough of the sports talk!

Long day, summary of office conversations, all users must die, all humans are aliens, there were no dinosaurs, next new genre of music is rap using aulde English, ie Chaucer - we don't have a name for it yet, Mark Kermode's amazing reproduction (he's on a podcat of a radio show) of the fight scenes from Ninja Assasin(s?).

It is a bit painful to switch back and forth so much. Even more so at home because my room is dark. I know google has a homepage thats dark but I think the results are on white. So it doesn't help much.

On Gee's note about gym people. I don't mind some people. Its when it gets so crowded my regular (ish) going self has to hunt for a machine to use. Even at like 9 something when I left last night it was pretty crowded. Normally its pretty dead by then. Ick running ><;; running hurts massively. I'd love to do a bike marathon, however (Have to get good at biking first though XD I can't even stand up to pedal, never learned how [always fell down when I tried]), as biking doesn't hurt my knees or hips. it's that high-impact shite that'll get you >_o. walking is awesome though. Walking at 4.0 (I'm assuming thats 4 mph?) I can do. I like to walk *with* someone though (like on the road or around a track). Seems to make it go easier.

As for running, I love it but I fell out of it due to the reflux part of my IBS and only just beginning to manage it again. Having said that, epic fail tonight, tired, lift going wrong, still having issue learning what I can and can't get away with as far as IBS, stress and activity goes. I've always been one of those people who fills their time and this doesn't lend itself well to my illness. Resulting in epic fails like tonight although I did succesfully watch over six hours of Football yesterday, only two weeks and I'll have run out, eek!

Doing okay this Wednesday morning (I think I actually saw sun on the way to work--omg). Internet fail is continuing in its epicness of fail, though the bf and I have formulated a new theory as to why it won't work. We can link to the web via direct line to the modem (we bought a new one after being told our old one had passed on), but the wireless is still shitting the bed. We think perhaps we had a power surge and it knocked out both the old modem and the router, because we've never had an incident where BOTH have failed and refuse to be fixed.

Any thoughts from any tech geek perspectives?

Sorry about your IBS mucking with your normal habits, Gee :(

I'm going to a gallery Friday night, my brother's girlfriend is holding one with a friend to raise money for Haiti (they're donating through Red Cross)). Never been to one before, and I've only seen a couple of her painted works (seen way more of her photographic stuff, she freelances and has been doing weddings of late), so it should be interesting :)

My guess is everyone found stuff to do at work/school. I on the other hand am bored (and at work, but the stuff I'm doing is starting to make my mind go numb, I can literally feel it fuzzing out), which is why I keep replying to this thread every other post, lol.
