Jessica Plummer's stuff kind of reminds me of "Treasure Planet" and the old "Dragon's Lair" video game... Not that's not a bad thing.

Saw the Zoe in colour one before, love it. She looks so fierce, almost cat-like, without being a cat like the zoomorphic one also posted. Zoomorphic stuff can be fun, and I know someone in the fur community, but it's really not my thing, kind of wary of it all because of the more risque elements.

Anyway, I like that one. It's even subtly influenced some of my own style on the few occasions I draw Zoe.

I also like the Jayne one, where he loses his wager.

But, wait, wouldn't it be Kaylee who lost the wager, because she really wanted to go? Maybe she didn't have the money to cover her bet and thought her invite might be approximately equal value. Too bad for Jayne Mal needed some respectability.

It makes no sense, but Kaylee was in a snit because of Mal's earlier insult. She refused to go to the Shindig with him. Jayne and Mal were playing cards to decide who wears the suit, who wears the dress. Anybody willing to write a Mal/Jayne story about this contretemps? About Jayne's awakening to his softer, feminine side?
"I feel pretty,
Oh, so pretty,
I feel pretty and witty and bright!
And I pity
Any girl who isn't me tonight."
- Jayne Cobb as Maria in the production of the West Side Story, before his voice cracked and he dropped out of the St. Ignatius All-Boys Catholic School.

Oh no you didn't.

You just gave me a horrible idea.
A horrible wonderful idea.
A horrible wonderful horrible...well, you get it.
The idea.

It might be on the absurd side of absurd, and I'm not sure it would even work at all in-canon. But one thing is sure--Jayne is not going to go quietly.

note: I'm hoping you meant Mal/Jayne in a Mal-and-Jayne-interaction sort of way so I don't need to go be squicked now. I don't ship non-canon, among other things. Period.

The existence of these caricatures also speaks to something I though the first time I saw Serenity.
All the crew have extremely cartoony faces, the best way I can explain it. They translate very well, and I think that's how they get away with the slight cheesyness of plot that becomes more endearing instead of just cheese.

Going for a ride.
