Greetings Independents!

First of all, we hope you had a wonderfully shiny Christmas and New Year's. We're only about a week into 2010 and we're loving it already.

Now that the Malcolm Reynolds Browncoats are getting out there, we're wondering: do you have yours yet? What do you think of your new Browncoat? Your feedback would be immensely appreciated!

Also, if you have any questions or suggestions for us (about the Browncoat or anything 'Verse related really!) we'd love to hear from you.

Signing off from snowy Canada,

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

It would be nice to have but I don't think you're gonna find too many of us that can afford it.

First, I wanna say, Mal's coat is wicked awesome lookin. No doubt. However, in the smaller latitudes ( down south ) there's less of an opportunity for folks around these parts to adorn themselves w/ such a fine haberdashery.

Also, to be honest, it's not a look which suits EVERYONE, including my own self. (personal opinion. ) That's not to say one needs to have the height or frame of our good captain himself to be able to pull of the look, just that it might not be a all purpose item suited for the masses.

Or it might be. What do I know ?

While I already have a brown leather bomber type jacket,( had it before Firefly ) I've often come close to pulling the trigger and purchasing a more authentic, actual Browncoat.

But not yet.

Like woman, I am a mystery.

I just got mine in the mail today. It looks and feels great. The buckles work well and overall the garment is fantastic. I was very satisfied with my purchase.

Thanks so much for the feedback, folks! Very kind of you :)

ECGORDON:
We understand your feedback on the price - we tried as best we could to get a balance between our usual high quality and a reasonable price for a durable suede long coat and we're happy with the result.

With that being said, we'll certainly be adding more products to our Serenity line in the near future so we'll be keeping a wide range of price points open as possibilities!

AURAPTOR:
Good point on the "look" of the Browncoat - it might not suit everyone's tastes (but then again, what does? :). Although we find the Browncoat works well on a remarkable range of people, both men and women!

To echo what I said above: a range of different types of garments is definitely the key here. And of course if any of you Browncoats out there have suggestions for us we're always listening.

CUDA77:
Thank you so much for your kind words!

TECHTREKKER:
Ditto ;)

So we'll be off for now, but if anyone has any other: a) feedback, or b) suggestions for other possible Serenity 'Verse clothing,

it'd be shiny to hear from you!

All the best,

I must be going crazy, because I took yet another look at said Browncoat, and it's not nearly as heavy a garment as I had thought. Long and stylish, to be sure, but not too heavy for the cooler parts of the year, even down south, is how I see it.

The one issue I may still have though, is the stitching on the loops which are attached to the buckles. They seem to be a tad on the thin side, and I've love to see one up close and personal, before any purchase.

More than a few of us would pay good coin for some Firefly-series Captain Mal boots that are more authentic than what's on offer from Motor Cowboy and the like...

AURAPTOR:
Long and stylish indeed, but well-ventilated for warmer climates! Thanks for giving our Browncoat a second look :)

The stitching on those buckle loops is quite good, would you like to see a close-up picture maybe?

If you really want "up close and personal" with the coat we're considering a return to Dragon*Con this year - that wouldn't happen to be in your neck of the 'Verse, would it?

OUT2THEBLACK:
Mal's Boots are an interesting idea for sure, thank you! We've never tackled footwear before but I'm sure our designers could handle it. We've got a few other design ideas in our heads but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to "go public" with those yet, so stay tuned!

Have a shiny weekend all,
