Another monthly update of our continuing woes at the hands (tentacles) of the voting machine.

Over at the coolest starship vote ( http://www.filmcritic.com/features/2008/05/coolest-starship-tournament/), we have been trashed by the Millennium Falcon (which then loses to the Enterprise.) I suspect sorcery.

Over at Moviepeople, Serenity got 20 votes, Firefly got 21. More votes than anyone else. Then again, I seem to be the only one voting for use. At the Stargate site, Firefly got 38 votes. More votes than anyone else. There appear to be two or three folks voting for Firefly.

There are a few of us still fighting the good fight against the evil bots. A few more regular voters would make a big difference. Apparently the voting bot is one person, and if that wuss goes away, we can repair a lot of the damage over time.
And show that Browncoats still exist. No votes at all for Firefly at these sites is the last thing we want to see. Only you can stop that from happening.

We did gather 600 votes at a recent face off with Fringe. We lost, but 600 is a large number.

Given the small number of us still voting regularly, that will make a noticible difference.

What Would Mal do ?

thing is...Serenity is the only ship that actually exists!! Joss built the set fer real...you could walk from one end to the other...Enterprise (as much as we all love her) and other ships are mere sets in pieces.

So see kids..there really isn't any comparison for us to worry about.
hell...bolt the whole thing together, add a briggs n straton engine and she'd probably try to fly ...that's the spirit of Serenity!

Over at Moviepeople, the site seems to have died. No big loss, since the voting bot trashed us and I seemed to be the only one voting for us. There were a few other voters for other shows, but we managed to get the most month after month. Browncoat persistence pays off.

At the Stargate site, Firefly got 24 votes. More votes than anyone else. There appear to be two or three folks voting for Firefly. However, the Stargate is infected with malware. I've been voting via iPad. The site has been infected for over a month.

So imagine my surprise when, after being gone for most of a year, my last thread is still on the front page...

The fanatics are the people who build and use voting bots to bury us (or rarely help us) in polls. At the moment, we are losing to the fanatics.

I spend more time posting messages here a few times a week, and responding to the occasional call to vote in some FF related poll (unless it requires registration, got no time for that). It's the only FF site I visit.

Takes just a minute or two to vote on two sites 20 or so times a month, and then post a monthly summary. It's mainly to remind people that every little bit helps. Otherwise, Firefly fades from view. One of those two sites is now gone, and the other apparently got an SQL injection infection, which warn away anyone with AV SW away.

Got to find another new site to support, what with Movie People permanently 404'd.

Another monthly update of our continuing woes at the hands (tentacles) of the voting machine.

Over at Moviepeople, the site was thought to be dead. But it came back today. So I voted. Since the last time I was able to get a count (about six weeks ago) we have gained 19 votes for Serenity and 20 for Firefly.

At the Stargate site, Firefly got 35 votes. More votes than anyone else. There appear to be two or three folks voting for Firefly. However, the Stargate was infected with malware. I've been voting via iPad. The site was infected for over a month, then they fixed that for a few weeks until they got infected again. If you got a Mac or Linux PC you can vote safely. Smart phones or iPads work as well.

Final monthly update of our continuing woes at the hands (tentacles) of the voting machine.

Over at Moviepeople, the site was thought to be dead. But it came back a month ago for a few weeks ago, and then went down again about ten days ago. I voted while it was up again, but it seems gone for good.

At the Stargate site, Firefly got 32 votes. More votes than anyone else. There appear to be two or three folks voting for Firefly. However, the Stargate site was infected with malware. I've been voting via iPad. The site was infected for over a month, then they fixed that for a few weeks until they got infected again. If you got a Mac or Linux PC you can vote safely. I'll keep plugging away, but these updates don't seem to be having much impact. So, a little over a year after this thread began, I'll leave it alone, as most everyone else has.

I would love to see a continuation of the series FireFly or a 2nd movie of Serenity. Just my 2 cents.

At this point, all they could do is a similar show set in the Firefly universe, with a new cast. Possible. If they could get Joss involved, if only as a consultant (and maybe script advisor), it might work.

Some of the old cast might be available, if only for guesting.
