Correction: it's not Fantastic Contraption it's "World of Goo" or something like that which is basically the same thing except you have to build things using goo balls.

Sister's working with the Dept of Ag, so she's technically an attache with the State Department. She jokes that she's a "wheat spy". She's actually responsible for reporting on wheat and other small grains and legumes. I think it's a bad year for wheat but a good one for lentils there?

Both the menfolk have decided to be Jedi this Halloween. I have pants and a robe for Doctroid, still have to get boychild's attire set up and make the tunics and obi and tabards and...Oy. They can just wear their darned rain boots or something. I am NOT doing any leatherwork or cobbling. There is no time. (I'm also running out of neutral colored fabric and may have to make a run for more.)
Also.. I might have to do some really good research and make one properly at some point. So far I've just checked out Wookiepedia (Wikipedia for all things StarWars).

I lurves mah fellow geeks!

The cousins are here and playing Wiigolf. They just had a Wiibowling tournament. Noisy boys in the house!

I'm doin' much better, thanks MsA. The cold seems to be fading. Still got a nasty cough though. Keeps me up at night and I'm exhausted.

Yay for NVG bein' home! I hope he's rested up enough now to dote over you lots. ^^

I think I'm gonna have to do the hardest thing... tell my best friend we can't take care of her kitten for her. :( She's gonna have to find a home for him or take him in at her house. He's so sweet to us, but he beats up on my kitten and is teaching him to be rough. My other 2 cats can take care of themselves, but there is just so much hissing and growling and scratching. I have to keep the kitten cooped up in a room all the time and he just cries and cries till I come in there. Can't give him to the Humane Society cuz they are over run with cats and kittens and said they'd prolly put him down within a day. This is breakin' my heart. :(

Updates for any who are interested:
It snowed.
Didn't really enjoy Zombieland. (Amazingly, neither did the zombie-obsessed boyfriend, so I feel slightly vindicated in that.)
Midterms this week. I feel queasy and hope it's just nerves.
It snowed
Dr. Horrible got stuck in my head all over again. I need the soundtrack.
Also have a paper due this week. Haven't started it yet. Yay.
And, oh yeah, IT SNOWED!

Then she got a call from someone she knew that was interested and she's picking him up tomorrow! Such a relief. ^^ Now all is well in Roxy's household.

OTOH it's that much further to go if he gives in and wants the black robes.. so more the victory if he converts for y.. um the Sith.

(Hey, jedi way is all well and good but I want grandkids some day dammit!)

I read on Wookiepedia that there was apparently a sect of Jedi who did not actually work within the establishment, or force enhanced people who weren't exactly jedi..?

Because Colorado can't actually follow the seasons. See, most years, we get snow well into March and sometimes April. This year, it warmed up precisely on the spring equinox and was lovely and rainy and green and warm aaaallllll through the glorious summer. Things started cooling down, particularly at night, shortly before the fall equinox. The leaves were all changing and the days were still pleasant and the nights were cold and it was actually behaving like Autumn, so Winter had to go and throw a tantrum and say, "I haven't gotten the bone-chilling iciness I'm used to having allotted to me, and I'm going to horn in on Autumn here, so there!" And that's just what Winter did, and now the pretty leaves are all dying and falling off the trees and the sky is all gray and depressing, and the days are cold and the nights are super cold, and all records for this time of year have been broken (last year many of them were broken as well, but for how warm it was, not for how cold) and all the happy little Autumn clouds poured ice and snow instead of crisp rain, and I don't think I've been able to feel my fingertips since it all started. So very cold. Nasty ol' cranky Winter.

Look around.
Leaves are brown.
It's a hazy shade of winter.

dada. dada. dada.

We just had the first killing frost yesterday. The leaves are turning pretty colors, but not with the intensity we're used to. More of a muted rust than BAZAM orange.
It was a long cool wet spring with two weeks of summer attached towards the end. Unusually mild temperatures for both Spring and Fall really.

The apples are delicious despite that! Very juicy this year, too.

Barkeep! It's 6:57 am and I'm about to head off to work. Please put a cool and frosty somthing in statis for me. It's going to be a strap your skates on and go kind of day.

What?
German corpse porn??

The exhibit was really quite small; it was moved from its original location at the Science Museum, so I guess a lot of the exhibits went elsewhere. And it's possible that this German Corpse Porn you mention couldn't follow the Bodies Exhibition due to legal or contractual obligations. ((shrug))

It's very much needed! The first idea was that I was going to take care of the kitten till my best bud got an apartment (prolly a few months), but we had an understanding that if she wasn't going to be able to take him she needed to find a home for him (I can't have 4 cats, just not happening). She loved that kitten so much, but just couldn't hold on to him for that long a time. So I thought the best gift to remember him would be that ID tag. I'm gonna put it on a chain and give it to her. Should make her happy.

Sorry for not saying anything to you sooner, HK. I've just been so stressed 'bout this all. I'm just glad it's finally done. She's gonna LUV it! ^^

Means that I will then be a driver/crew chief. Since my commute to the phone garage is short enough (90% of our traffic control work is for the phone company) I'll be able to have a company truck and use it to drive back and forth to work!

Saving me wear and tear on my car and with winter coming... I'd call that a win.
