What makes it such a happy morning? Morning is a bad word in my book. At least it's a bad word if I have to wake up during it. If I can sleep through the morning then it's a good morning I guess.

Well I only have to work 2 days this week, we're getting an ultrasound on Wednesday so we'll get to see his face a lot better than last time, and D*C is this week... I realize none of this effects you though

HUGS I'm so sorry you put so much effort into the interview only to have such a disappointing result.

Interviews are a pain, but they are a fact of life. I have had some interesting ones and you never know which one is going to get you that. I swear I got a job because I shared the same interests as the owner. I was not told it was the owner at the time. I assumed he was human resources. I was interviewed by the head of the department and then the owner came and saw that I put military history as one of my interests. Next thing I knew I was amswering questions on the lasts books I read on the subject. Turns out he had read the same books and wanted to know what my opinion was on them apparently I impressed him, becaused they hired me. I suppose I impressed the head of the department too.

I liked interviewing at the end of college. I got the job offer for where I work now real early. So, for the rest of my interviews all the pressure was off. In one they started asking me technical questions and for a bunch of them I just answered "I don't remember but I'm sure I could find the answer in a book". Got a job offer from that place too lol

OK got a ponder for hetro guys. Do you like women to have long hair (shoulder lengthish or longer) or short hair?

I vote for long hair. I also contest that since like every super model in existence has long hair that it's a fairly common accepted preference. Man law?

I typically prefer long hair, but I have found that if I am attracted to a woman the length does not matter much. I also prefer slightly straight. Those hair styles they wear in those beauty pageants turn me off. Give me the Princess Aura look anytime.

This so depends on who it's on and how it's done. First off, hairstyles, hair color, breast size, whatever; I love 'em all. That said, long hair works extremely well on some and on others, not so much. Of course I've seen the same short hair on the same hot chick (Selma Blair, let's say) that in one picture absolutely rocks and in another makes you wonder WHY??[i/]. Then there's them like Halle Berry where the hair works no matter what length.

I look awful with short hair and have only had it involuntarily( once when I was 12 my mom took me to get my hair trimmed, as I had waist length hair which I needed to make a proper bun for ballet and this crazy lady hairdresser cut my hair off below the ear 'cause she'd decided I would look good that way.. very traumatic)

Oh and as for why I don't know if there's a good answer. It's like asking why you like your favorite color. It's just the way it is. Though I do like the way long hair moves. I still remember the morning this cute chick from the 7th floor was in the parking garage and she was sorta leaning forward and draping her hair down in front of her and then she whipped it back. I was driving by and just thinking "yummy what a nice start to my day". She has since cut her hair short and is no longer "the cute chick from the 7th floor". Now she's just some chick.

Nope, not whipped (nice try at the euphemism, though). I like long hair. I like short hair. Curly, wavy, straight, blonde, brunette, red, and occasionally clubbish. I like ‘em all, but I don’t necessarily like ‘em on all women. Beauty is not only in the eye of the beholder; it is in the appearance of the beheld.

I think some men are so “attracted” to long hair—and big boobs—because it leaves no room for doubt about their lack of slyness. Short hair and flat chests can mean only one thing: you swing the other way. Which I hasten to point out is surely not the case for all those here present…

GRABABILITY!

I've known women who have their first child and their hair seems an attraction. While holding their infant they find the child adores pulling on their long locks. Depending on endurance these women finally get their hair cut so they can have some rest from loosening the grip of their childs claw from their long strands. I certainly can't blame them for this. I would do the same thing.

I certainly would never grab a womans hair, unless we were in a tussle. A friendly tussle. I much rather run my fingers through it.

And to add to this topic; I prefer raven colored hair over any other. I lean toward the dark side of the force.

I don't know but I think it was hiding some of the blandness of her face and she seems to have gotten extremly skinny since then. Not sure if it's an optical illusion or if she really lost a lot of weight. Either way it's not an attractive look for her.

Nah I'm more a leg man than hair. Though it's not all about the legs.

The topic was more because I tell my female co-worker friend that she should grow her hair out all the time. I just tell her that she'll get more men that way. Then yesterday she found some "dear abbey" type thing about just that subject. The lady basically said the guy is a jerk for telling her to change anything about her. Then she went on to say that the few guys she asked all agreed with him

I think those are two very different things though. Hairstyle is pretty easy to change. Boobs are talking surgery or there's no real other options. If you had a guy friend who never combed his hair or shaved would you think it would be out of the question to tell him that doing those things will increase his chances of getting noticed? I don't see that as being a jerk. I see that as giving feedback.

That being said I still think it's a matter of honesty. The girls with the best looks are on average going to get the most attention from guys. You can refuse to play along but you're not going to convince many guys to change their minds. It's pretty much game theory at that point. Even if all women started letting themselves go eventually one would betray the others to get an advantage for herself. Then it just dominoes from there. So, if attention from men is the goal then you either play along or give up. I guess you could also say the majority of guys are jerks

Hmm well really research shows average looks, plus confidence will get you more than being super hot. Plus there's the getting someone v keeping someone. You can be really hot and you might not be able to keep them 'cause you suck...

But I think the woman in Dear Abby was talking more about a guy who basically pulled the " cut your hair and I won't like you anymore crap" or when guys or girls constantly put down their SO and pick on how they look...
But sure if you prefer something say so, just don't be surprised if they tell you where to go.... I figure you're welcome to have an opinion but don't expect someone to change to meet your specifications.

and I love that you equate basic grooming in men to a specific type of hairstyle in women...you're so adorable:)

Oh and totally agree that most women dress up, and spend all that time not to attract a guy but to compete with other women... sad

Nope the link was about a friend telling her that if she wants more male attention then she should grow her hair out. Though he did say something about girls who tell her they love her hairstyle are lying to her just cause they know it's bad and give them an advantage over her. That last part really seems rude to me.

And long hair isn't that specific. There are plenty of different long hair styles. My earlier definition was shoulder length and beyond. I bet you could find a hundred different styles that fit that bill.

The comparison isn't perfect because it's difficult to think of something women would even come close to agreeing on for a guys looks that he has control over. I guess maybe clothing style but even that I think you'd have a much harder time reaching any kind of consensus.

Sadly though it is rude I do know women who would tell another woman they looked good in something simply to make her less attractive.. it's one of the reasons women suck

Oh we have a consensus... try cologne/body spray for example... we all believe that less is better.
Note to all guys... the point of cologne is to make us want to get closer to you.. so please just a tiny bit is plenty.. then we lean in and say you smell good. If we can smell you from more than 1 foot away...bad thing

Two reasons actually. One was to point out the best reason for long hair... and the other is I didn't know you used that kind of language.

As for the pic, I'd settle for a short-haired one; I have a great imagination!!!

lol happens to everyone. mad excited or excited excited? or both? :P when I'm pissed I'll start mother-fucking (as the bf puts it, cuz he does that), when I'm excited it tends to be mild.

Anger does make it worse. But any excitement will bring it out.

Hello, Traveler ^_^

lol, i love how everyone capitalizes the "l" in Freelancer XD (I'm not picking on you, i've noticed quite a few people do it because of the way someone abbreviated my username waaaaay back when i first joined, probably to discern me from FlatTop). I don't mind it, I just think it's interesting how that evolved. ^_^

anyway, yes, it is sunday afternoon, a very quiet one.

Here's a ponder: why is it that mozilla tracks your spelling errors online? I've noticed it underlining everything it thinks I spell wrong on forums, emails, chats (especially G-chat, not so much with AIM)...but IE never did. it's odd.

I must not have mozilla in my system. For this forum I use Outlook to check some spelling and a dictionary I keep close.

It is always slow on Sundays. When football starts that will make a big change. A Packer fan am I.
