Well, Kitten, you ever feel unwelcome, come find me, and if I feel unwelcome I'll come find you, and we can do something awesome and thumb our noses at unwelcomers.
Also, I will totally be doing all the photo ops I can afford, so I'll be there to see how you are and invite you to room parties and bring you Dew if that would be allowed.

HUGS Avery... of course sweety:0 We're just so excited to get there and see everyone. It's going to be the best ever( and I totally adore that you measure time in toast)

Rose I thinkw e should declare our suite the grown up suite.. which means that, during all room parties, people drifiting in and out, and whatever as grown ups whether there's a past history with someone or someone just doesn't like something others say whoever has the problem must go find other people to talk to at the gathering and not make an ass of themself by starting something. Everyone has to be polite or I'm getting out my best pregnant slapping hand and taking on all :) I figure whatever else we all love Firefly and can use our common ground to respect differences and be civil and utilize the thumper rule:)Otherwise we're jsut a bunch of purplebellies ( which we're not)

((*HUGS back to MsA*)) Erm .. better. (For people who don't know what I'm about to refer to, please see my most recent log entry - if I have to explain it from the beginning I'm likely to cry) My friend is actually doing amazingly. She has movement in her upper legs now! We don't know about anything below her knee yet tho, as she broke her legs during the accident, so we'll have to wait another month or so before the casts come off to find out if she'll regain full movement. Her physiotherapist seems pleased so far, and they've move her to the local hospital rather than the bigger city one. All positives so far, her progress is truly remarkable tbh!

So now I have to focus on big decisions, like applying to universities .. arghhhhh!! But think I actually need to make a decision on which course to do first ...

Speaking of...

Gibbs over at the 76th says we'll be rallying at the Marriott lobby Friday at 10 (be early because, well, I said to be early;). We should be done and returned around 2PM. This year the price should be about 20 bucks a person and we will be going to a much closer place. More than likely a place right off a MARTA stop.

Room party then shooting in the morning, what could be better. If this were combined with a large event that we get to see our friends at over a long weekend it would be perfect.

But that would be logical .. ((*shudders*)) aha. In reality, both have been narrowed down severely. You have to choose up to 5 universities, and one main subject. I have 2 main options:
1) Music Production at either a) Leeds College of Music; b) the Cardiff Institute; c) Huddersfield
2) Key Stage 2 Teaching at I HAVE NO IDEA .. possibly York, of maybe Leeds, they're both supposed to be good for teaching.
Arghhhh decisions. I shouldn't have to make one so important at 17 :/

So how is everybody in the bar this (for me) very early Saturday morning? (Seriously, its 1 AM here )

In England, Key Stage 1 is referred to as Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 (your 2 years of Kindergarten and First Grade)
Key Stage 2 is Years 3 -6 (Second to Fifth Grade)
After that is when we go to High School, and Key Stage 3 is Years 7 - 9 (Sixth -Eighth Grade)
Then it stops being Key Stages, but we're still in High School for GCSE in Years 10 and 11 (Ninth and Tenth Grade)
Then we move into sixth form (if you're staying at the same school) or college (if you have to move buildings, but its either in the same town or in a close one) for two years. Year 12 is AS year, year 13 is A Levels.
After that is University.

So if I go into teaching, I'll be teaching Years 3 - 6, so age 7 -11.

In theory, that sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately, I am not a grown up. There are a couple of bitches I would really just like to punch RIGHT THE FUCK OUT. One of which comes to this forum on occassion to primp and preen and promote various things... and she is a self-centered, arrogant, goddamned liar with an entitlement complex and delusions of grandeur. And oddly enough, I have documented evidence of all this. Heh. She suckered me in then fucked me over, ignored me, tried to make me feel guilty for trying to protect myself, and lied over and over and over. That makes me very angry. The others -- well, their just miserable old bitches who can't seem to find any way to get their rocks off other than making other people miserable.

So... yeah... like I said, your sanctuary sounds nice in theory, but I wouldn't be allowed to enter. XD

Depends on if their parents are in PETA, I suppose...

I'm off to hear a friend play at a coffee house about an hour away.

There was a clip from Terry Jones' Medieval Life (Minstrel) with a duo of French musicians, one of whom bore a striking (though considerably less attractive) resemblance to Zeppo. Sort of like a cousin who hadn't gotten quite as good a roll of the genetic dice.

I've also just watched The Guild season 1. Plus the video "Do you want to date my avatar?". I laughed a goodly bit.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH (GASP) HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!

Can I live on Facebook?! Please?! I ain't makin' halfa that, honey. Matter of fact I'm not making a fourth of that at my current job. It's a little bit better at the new place, and a smidge better than that in the hospitals but it still isn't even within shouting distance of $85. That's pretty much doctor money around here!

Where is this I'm supposed to be working?

Oh, the gig turned out to be a recital by the students of a friend of hers who's a violin teacher. All pretty much beginners. Including the six year old. And a woman in what I'm guessing to be her 40s who kept stopping and apologising every time she made a mistake. Which extended the duration of the piece by a factor of two or three.
Still, it was nice to see my friend playing duets with the instructor. They did a piece by Mozart in which the notes are right side up and upside down on the paper so that they face each other across a table, then one person starts at one end of the song and the other one works backwards and they meet and pick up the part that the other just played in the middle. It's a fun one.

Doctroid's headed for Acceleratopia tomorrow. He gets to be run coordinator for eight wacky days. He decided to drive this time so his luggage makes it there around the same time he does. Alas it is not CERN, so no amazing chocolates this time.

<--- De-Lurks---

I'm about.. Physically anyway.

I'm still trying to figure out a way to smuggle myself in Steamers luggage so I can get to D*C

TWIGA

I want to go to D*C so bad I can taste is--it would be an 8 hour drive. But I just can't afford it this year. I am a full-time working adult, but money is so tight.....

Ok I envy you an 8 hour drive Twiga as that would get us to maybe Colorado, but still I understand the working adult no money thing. We'd not be going except we decided to forgo a honeymoon in favor of D*C and have saved all year so we can go:)

oooh such a long day 1 parent meeting, 4 observation/assessments , a teacher training, a functional behavior assessment and intervention plan, 2 principal meetings, and then discovering no one made the copies for my all day training tomorrow... so had to go in spend 45 minutes in a room with 4 copiers) which may be what hell feels like and having to try and fix repeated copy jams which meant bending over a ton( which no one should do pregnant)

FLT, if you think that's provocative/racy you should probably not attend D*C, and if you do you should avoid the Hyatt after dark at all costs.

Seriously.

I second that. Didn't they have at least a Hooters in your town?
