I have been a fan of Firefly since managing to catch a few episodes on Fox during it's first (but not last!) run on tv. As soon as I heard that they were releasing the DVD set I immediately orderd them from Amazon. As expected we were totally blown away by the complete series. Unfortunately, there just weren't enough episodes. My frustration at not having more Firefly led me to this forum. I was amazed at the number of people who recognized what a great show Firefly was. Although I have been lurking for quite a while, this is my first post.

My wife and I attended the Columbus shindig this weekend and we wanted to say what a great time we had. Browncoats are such a diverse, articulate, and friendly group of people. Everyone made us welcome and by the end of the weekend we felt like they were all old friends.

We look forward to meeting these "old friends" and more Browncoats in the future!

Aw! It's awesome that you had such a great time - I'm jealous. I live very close to Columbus myself, but RL and other concerns just wouldn't let me go.

It's fabulous to have a fan community that's so friendly and eager to get together and meet each other!

Man! I had a frikkin blast! It was great to see the folks I met in AC again, and of course it's always shiny to meet new Browncoats too.

Aerrin -- There has been some mention of us Buckeye Browncoats doing mini-shindigs or viewing parties sometime in the near future. Hopefully you can come to one of those. Also, there is talk of setting up another Blue Sun Room, this time for the MarCon. It's being held at the downtown Hyatt on Memorial Day weekend.

It was a great event. Meeting new Browncoats is a great thing, and Nonaluna did a great job setting up and running the Shindig, and it made plenty of memories.

Yes, there is discussion of setting up one or possibly two Firefly rooms at Marcon, you can check the OB thread on the Columbus shindig, which has some info on Marcon plans here:

Several of the Browncoats present at the Columbus Shindig are planning to come, though I myself most likely won't be able to. It does sound like quite an event, though.
